Non-alcoholic drinks, for SUMMER

Hey gals,

So typically I would be drinking beer, martinis, sangria, and whatever else that was cold and refreshing for those hot summer months.. not an alcoholic, but summer is the time to celebrate right? :drinker:

So we were sitting out on the deck this weekend and I was stuck with water, when everyone else was enjoying a nice cold beer.. AGH!!

In my first trimester I wouldn't care too much because of my nausea, but now that i'm in full shape, I'm starting to feel the withdrawls lol!

So what are some non-alcoholic, not too sugary drinks you gals turn to?

I've tried a German non-alcoholic beer that was actually really good, when I think of it, I'll post the name on this forum for you beer drinkers out there - i would love some other brands that actually taste like beer if you have any suggestions!

Happy summer season!! :glasses:

    Great topic!

My favourite drink last summer was a "Blueberry Twister":

    Juice from 1/2 lemon
1 Tbsp simple syrup (or less if too sweet)
    1oz sparkling water
    1.5oz vodka
    1.5 Tbsp pure blueberry juice

This year I made it without vodka, and instead of simple syrup I used a slash of 7-Up/Sprite. Also, check to make sure your blueberry juice is pasturized!

Another simple drink I like is ginger ale with fresh lime juice (and vodka when not pregnant). When I was home a friend made a concoction using lemon juice, simmered for a bit with some herbs, then mixed it with sparkling water. If I can get the recipe I'll post it.

Summer is my favorite drinking season! I miss my Summer Shandy!

Over Memorial Day I tried a few options. I don't mind O'Douls Amber. It's not the greatest but it helps me feel a little more normal. I also mixed my own virgin frozen drinks. I used a mixture of oj, pineapple and some other fruit juices- added a little grenadine. I've also been on a banana smoothie kick. It's more like a milkshake but still a nice change from water. (my brother has the bullet- I just use ice and a frozen banana- sometimes a squirt of chocolate syrup or a spoon full of peanut butter)

Mmm... I wonder if I could concoct some sort of NA sangria. That sounds good.

Make sure you check the label and website. Some non-alcoholic beer as very little alcohol in it, but it's still there.

This year I'm gonna have to deal with making a virgin margarita... so basically a slushy LOL Or a virgin Screw driver aka Orange juice. Hahaha!

I like to add a large dollop of lime slush to an o'douls. The real version is just usually called an iceburg or a bulldog or somethign like that but it's so refreshing in the summer. I used a few spoonfuls of frozen lime juice from the can and mix that with ice and a bit of water in the magic bullet for the slush then added it to my mug of "beer". hit the spot.

I was just going through some old bookmarks and found this one! Haven't tried any recipes myself, but there's quite a few that sound tasty!

I make a really good lemon punch that you don't have to add the liquor to:

    1 bottle lemonade
    2 liter sprite
    ice
chopped apples, oranges, strawberries, and blackberries
1/2 gallon orange or rainbow sherbert
