I need recommendations for paranormal romance/urban fantasy authors, stat! I go on vacation tomorrow and have nothing on my Kindle!

Fair warning, I have read quite a bit. Stacia Kane, Nalini Singh, Kalayna Price, and J.R. Ward are my favorites.

Well.. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I've dipped my hands on a paranormal romance <by accident!> but a good read is called "Blood and Chocolate" by Isabel Allendale. The ending I dont agree with, but the rest of the story is good. I read it in high-school while going through some of the books in my Lit class. Give it a shot if you want.

These are on my list to read someday but I haven't gotten to most of them so fair warning that I'm recommending them because they are similar in genre, not because I've checked out the quality.

    Laurell K. Hamilton
    Larissa Ione
    Kresley Cole
    Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lara Adrian (I have read the first of her Midnight Breed series and it was pretty hot)

I'm in love with The Hollows series by Kim Harrison.

The first several Laurell K. Hamilton books are good. The quality goes downhill fast, though.

I agree. The first six are ok, but after that, forget it. Quality of writing goes down, and she gives up plot for endless porn. I'm all for a steamy sex scene, but it's ridiculous.

I personally think Kelley Armstrong and Patricia Briggs are much better authors. Try one of them.

I enjoy Christine Feehan's books. The female characters are strong and the sex scenes are spaced out through some good mystery. I second Patricia Briggs. Laurell K. Hamilton is getting better. The last two of her latest books have been more about the story than the sex. Charlaine Harris is great (True Blood) and Kim Harrison is also awesome.

I started reading the "Fallen" series by Lauren Kate. Love it so far...
