Has anyone ever done the Hottest Half in Dallas?

Just curious if I have truly lost my mind! I really think I am going to do it!

I haven't, but was seriously considering doing this. This happens to be the only local half that I can do as a time predictor for a full I have in September. I have trained in the heat, and have done some shorter races in the summer, but full out racing a half in this heat might be a different beast. I am attempting a PR so I'm not sure I can achieve it with this race. I may have to travel for a more ideal race.

With that said, if you don't mind the heat and/or don't mind adjusting any time goals for this half, go for it! If you are familiar with White Rock, you'll feel comfortable with how flat the course is. I just did Too Hot to Handle (15k along the same route) and lucked out with bearable temps this year.

Good luck and have fun!

Yeah I going to do it with my running partner and we already talked about how it was more just for fun. We have trained some in the heat and for sure wouldn't going for a PR. We have another in October that will be PR time and a full in November. This one is just for funsies!
