Hey everyone,
I just moved here about 30 days ago from the Oklahoma City metro. I moved here to be with my fiance and start a new life. Definitely cooler here. lol
I have worked in health-care in one way or another for over 20 years and recently got hired by Cleveland Clinic and start orientation on August 13th. Can't wait. My last day at Baptist Hospital in OKC was June 20th and I feel like a lazy bum being off work for over a month. I was working 32 hours overtime each pay period for the last 7 months or so to save up money as I was told 3 months or more to get a job wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary here. Glad it was less.
I have found that I love riding my bike, trike and walking at Rocky River Reserve. It is only like 6 miles from my house and it is beautiful. Separate paths off the roadway. A lovely canopy of trees providing cooling shade. And endless calorie burns. Looking forward to hitting Cuyahoga Valley National Park next week.
Have ridden the RTA train to an Indians game. Have checked out the beautiful Botanical Gardens and bought a membership to your beautiful art museum.
I spent the first 25 years of my life in Illinois, so Ohio is definitely a great fit for me and I am loving everything about it so far. Will see what I think come winter. lol
Just wanted to introduce my self and say hello. Hope to talk to more of you soon.

Yeah, I'm late to the party.
I spent my elementary school years in North Ridgeville, and have family in Elyria and Avon. (Though I've since moved to Columbus.)
The Cleveland area has some of the best metroparks around, I'm sure you'll love all of them. Don't forget also to check out the Zoo and Rainforest. They're both pretty huge, so they make for a good walking day.
Also, if you want some good fresh and local food, make sure you check out the West Side Market, if you haven't already.0 -
Welcome to the area.... I'm just in Lorain/Amherst area.... Cleveland has more to offer as far as attractions... but Lorain/Elyria etc has a great bike/walking trail with the Metro parks you might want to check out!0
