
Roller Derby - it takes more than once a week practice!
                    I joined derby in 2012 and pretty much tore my PCL right off the bat.  I tried to keep skating for a few years, even attended a Roller Con in 2013, but eventually gave up as I watched class after class pass me.  This year, 2017, I moved to a new town and thought that I should try again!  Much to my surprise, I made the team.  Bouts and Scrimmages are great, practices... not so much.  I’m 51, over weight, diabetic, and have two knees that never really healed.  I realized this week that once, or even twice a week practice just wasn’t enough to keep in shape to keep up with everyone - especially the younger everyone’s!  I’m back at the gym three times a week, and was hoping to find others with similar stories for support
