Ottawa Ospreys RFC - Rugby Accountability Fitness Group
This group is about focusing on your off-season training; concentrating specifically on the balance of different or new exercises and activities that you will be discovering during the off-season, while maintaining the club/team interactions.
Benefits to this:
• Accountability: We perform better in a group setting. Each of us are responsible for our off-season training and having this group will help you keep on track to your goals.
• Motivation: This group can help encourage you to get up and exercise, it will also encourage you to improve your current fitness level
• Solidarity: We are social creatures and let’s be honest, a time away from rugby can be hard for some individuals. This group can help build/maintain our team dynamics as well as decrease stress levels and increased mental quality of life, by staying connected with each other.
It is important to know that this will not be as intense as your on-season, but the maintenance of your fitness by building on your aerobic and anaerobic health during the off-season, will give you and your team the competitive edge. It’s about taking the time to fix your bodies imbalances on your fundamental movements and looking for activities and exercises that are almost the opposite of rugby, to help develop a better and strong foundation for next season.
