Losing the Quarantine 15
Hi MyFitnessPal community!
Are you struggling with all of the life changes that come from working from home during COVID? Did you end up putting on the dreaded Quarantine 15 (or more!) last year? Are you looking for a group that can help hold you accountable for your weight loss and fitness goals? If so, you might be a good fit to join Losing the Quarantine 15. It's my new, free, support and accountability group for people who want to set and maintain healthy habits while working from home. I've created it because I really struggled with weight gain last year and I need a group to hold me accountable as I attempt to lose it this year. I looked everywhere (I tried Noom and WeightWatchers) but nothing really worked for me so I decided to create my own group!
How it will work:
The group will run for eight weeks from Sunday March 14-May 2.
There will be 6-8 group members only. By keeping the group small we will get to know each other better. I find that with large, online groups it can be too easy to 'fall off the wagon' without anybody noticing, but this will be much harder in a small group.
We will meet via Zoom every Sunday evening for about an hour. To join the group you must be able to commit to attending the weekly Zoom meetings. During meetings we will talk about our progress from the previous week, set goals for the upcoming week, and educate and motivate each other on health and fitness.
We will set up a Telegram group and do daily text check ins to track our progress. All group members must commit to doing text updates every day. We will each have an 'accountabilibuddy' within the larger group who will commit to sending a reminder if someone doesn't do their daily text update. To join the group you have to be willing to be an active member of the Telegram group.
