  • If it gets you to eat more whole food it can't be a bad thing, it'll help move you in that direction and then you'll be able to do it under your own steam. All you need to do calorie wise is eat the MFP recommended calorie intake.
  • Actually one day is all the difference, every day makes a difference as does every pound. I didn't say that she shouldn't do it, I said decide for a day if she wanted to lose or not.
  • Harriett - Don't go below 1200 calories a day, this is usually the recognized minimum someone will need to obtain all the vitamins and minerals needed each day. If your exercising then eat back at last half of the calories you burn, can eat back them all if you choose but then you have to be extra sure that the calories…

  • Everyone is different, the only way to find out is to try it for a week. I'm set to lose 2 pounds a week at sedentary but I've lost 19 pounds in 12 days eating the MFP recommended calorie intake for my weight and height.
  • Great work - This too is an aim of mine (19 pounds to go), can't wait to feel the way you do!
  • Thanks :) - My recommended intake is 2000, but I always seem to hover around 1500. The weight is coming off and I'm never hungry, so I really can't complain!
  • Brilliant, Thanks - That is really quick! Did you have to drop your calorie intake really low to lose it that quickly? or did you stick with BMR/MFP recommendations?
  • How long did 110 pound loss take you? Fantastic work, only been working at it 10 days but stories like these from guys aren't that regular, so its nice to see one!
