@jugar glad you got out on your snowshoes - a good start to the year. Love the summary of December. Despite wanting to leave the baked goods behind I found time yesterday to make an Olive Oil Cake from Bon Appetit - cut the sugar in half but still quite high calories for a slice - had a yummy slice this afternoon and now…

Hi all, and welcome to the many new members! Sylvia, 51, in Massachusetts. I joined this group in January '20 and find a lot of good ideas, motivation and encouragement. I had hit a high in January '20 of 194 or so and somehow found the determination and focus to weigh and log for many months getting very near to my goal…

Hi Debbie ! a good goal and I aim to be a good poster too. Happy New Year!
-
:D this thread is just hanging and hanging on....Happy New Year to you all! I think 2021 is our year!!
-
@jugar damn....I even went out in the moonlit dark for a second walk to try to counter the chocolate overindulgence. ;) PW 145 CW 146 Love your NYE story - a great anniversary to celebrate for both of you. @Kali225 I love to share soup recipes (I could have called myself soupfreak) - in the January thread...fave standards…

Well, good all day and then the See's chocolates box got opened. I'll be so glad when this stuff is all gone. Back to healthy soup & keeping all the too tempting stuff out of the house!! I'm an early bird rather than a night owl and I'll greet the new year in the morning, with a cup of coffee. :)

I'm so impressed with your planners and your entries. I've never tried to formally lay out a plan like that and I can see how it can be inspiring and maybe keep one on track. hmmm...must look them up.
-
whew, I'll be glad to get back to being a bit more careful with my eating and happy too when the fridge and pantry don't hold such temptation. I'm hitting the regular team again although I'll check in here too. Last Jan when I'd set my goal to lose 50 lbs by the next Jan, it was just an easy round number to throw out…

@jugar, looking forward to turning the page to January. I am resetting my goal and would like to drop 10 lbs and see how I feel there...so not in the goal zone for January. Looking to see the tracks in the snow is one of the few things I like about snow. Surprisingly, after that last snow, there were no coyote nor deer…

I thought I'd done well on Christmas, only to devolve the day after and eat lots cookies - even ones I don't love (why?!?!). But they're mostly all gone now, along with a sliver of lemon cheesecake that was delicious. With all that indulgence, time, and a sunny afternoon, I set out for a huge walk yesterday, a different…

:) I hear you on the shortbread. I ate the last of my cardamom shortbread yesterday and no longer an option, hurray. Don't worry, we'll all get back on track .
-
hurray, on the other side of that holiday. I'd bought more citron thinking to bake more stollen but I am going to stick it in the freezer for next year. I don't need that temptation.
-
cookies for breakfast but I didn't abuse it. Saving some room for another traditional dessert and going to go for a walk in the rain...as my mum would tell me, I'm not made of sugar...I won't melt. and it's a nice sixty degrees out there....that whole foot of snow is gone!
-
@micki48 thinking of you, hope all turns out okay for all of you!

pw 146.5 cw 145 no idea how that happened. miracle.

@Terytha Love the house with the 'HELP' side. :D looks yummy too - love oreos!
-
I didn't check in last night as promised but can report this morning that yesterday went fine - no binges and plenty of exercise shoveling and a few laps with my snowshoes - loved it - I've hardly used them in the past but if this winter gives us snow, it'll be a snowshoeing winter. @conleywoods I want to be at YOUR house…

Love all the photos and stories and gatherings! Terrible temptations abound and I've caved....I must work on not caving BIG and just caving small and enjoying a little treat. Starting out every day great....devolves from there. Think I'll aim for a perfect day today - will report back in before bed tonight. Most all the…

@jugar of course #s above are incorrect but the outcome the same...no change. Just made same error on MFP - must be something my brain can't quite recognize as true.

[quote Oh working from home itself makes lots of things chaotic. Getting colder and snowing also tempts me to eat more (maybe to feel getting warmer and more cozy?). When I was a kid our refrigerator had a lock on it, I wish the new refrigerators could have the same option, so when I wanted to eat more I couldn't have…

Just as well we're getting a foot of snow tonight and just as well I can't get the snowblower to stay running, my eating has been pretty awful for 2 days now - yikes it's my weigh in day tomorrow morning - and I'll get the chance to 'snowshovel' off the calories I've taken in. I need to work on some strategies that WORK…

You are doing great with your daily accountability!!

Thanks, I'll look it up and I have no fear of doing silly walks (aka Monty Python) because I walk at night B)

Took a day off yesterday, from work and from logging too. Mum and I escaped the house and got a slice of pizza followed by a great ice cream. Working from home the rest of the week and I'm going to prep my lunch and snacks now as if I am going to the office. It might help me not reach for the 'other' stuff. I'm going to…

Debbie, I was thinking of you today and your comment above, as I busted a couple of exercise moves to the Charlie Brown Christmas special album - I could make a whole jazzy routine to that great album.
-
Will get my steps in today for sure - calm and 60 degrees and lots to do outdoors before a big snow this week (when I'll get my snow shoveling in). I'll also rummage out my snowshoes today. Ate too many little cookies yesterday - must work on being satisfied with 2. must start reading that book Life is Hard, Food is Easy.

Retail before the holidays...weekends a must...I did seasonal work at C&B - the busyness was a buzz but got home exhausted. We'll catch you on a call another time. Stay well and have a good Sunday.

they all got in , don't worry, hope noone got stuck out...

[ That is per minute indeed! Calories burned depends a lot on peoples' age, weight, etc., so I like the steps per minute thing better. Heavy snow is usually what we get in the first and last snows of the season, so here we go![/quote] REALLY?? I was just kidding - that is great! It changes my whole attitude about…
