Very true. She may very well be a gym freak, for all we know. My only (innocent, I think) point is that even those of us who are usually thin often go through a phase of gaining weight and getting fat when our diets get out of whack....slim right now doesn't mean "always skinny"
-
And as many here have noted, being effortlessly thin at one point in your life doesn't mean you wont become plump later....circumstances and bodies change.....that woman doesn't have a permanent free pass.
-
You could gain to 110 pounds and still be healthy....why not give that a try and see if you feel better?
-
Skinny doesn't last forever either, especially with bad habits...one woman I work with has gone from size zero to size 16 the past year....things even out.
-
At 105, its OK to say youre adding fat.....you probably need some! If 2,000 calories isn't doing, try 2,250.....increase till you get results!
-
Was that awkward suggesting it to your formerly thin cousin?
-
Honestly you look good already...id say the top of the range would work.....and be sustainable!
-
Good Luck! How much you trying to gain?
-
My problem is what people bring in....I know I know its my responsibility, but everyone in my office has gained major weight..especially the formerly skinny!
-
I gained 12 pounds, and went up a pant size. Still worth it. I'll eventually lose it, I guess...I just feel very potbellied and jiggly right now.
-
Oh I got it....turned 40 in October, gained 25 pounds since then!
-
I think this is definitely a problem for people who were thin most of their adult lives. You can see the old me in my profile pic....I'm a good 70 pounds heavier now, and 12 inches wider round the waist, but I still think of myself as the "skinny kid". And theres a girl in my office who had been a size 2, except now she…

Yeah we get a lot of food from grateful clients and customers too, as well as the daily employee bring-in....either way it doesnt matter where it comes from....we've all put on muffin tops, especially the skinny ones....
-
Everyone complains about the weight gain but no one stops bringing the treats in so......
-
My workplace is ridiculous with donuts and baked goods every day, and all of the skinny people on staff have gained weight.....and I mean from skinny to plus size in some cases.....
-
Most people I know quit the diet during the holidays, despite best intentions....you enjoy yourself, you get a little belly for a month or two, you lose it later.......
-
I had always been very thin, almost underweight....then as I approached 40, I started gaining weight rapidly and didn't know how to stop it, never having had to watch before. Gained 12 inches round my waist I haven't been able to lose.
-
Youre almost certainly right....this office is full of food Ive never seen her pass up....but that's what she blames!
-
Just drink it black....one girl I work with went from a size 2 to a size 18 in a year just by adding a morning sugary drink at Starbucks......
-
If you cant get as skinny as your friends you can always try to fatten them up! :P
-
This is true.....but some people are so skinny they really do just need to gain some good old fashioned fat. it sounds like the OP might be one of those.

Thrift stores are an awesome suggestion....I've gone from a 30 waist to a 42 inch waist over the past few years, and without thrift shops theres no way my budget would have kept up with my expanding waistline! I've also been the beneficiary of a lot of hand me downs of other peoples outgrown clothes.....our workplace tends…

You definitely want to find ways to be active....myself and another desk bound employee at my job have both gained over 50 pounds the last 2 years.....
-
All I can tell you is keep logging and be careful! Night shifts can be a killer of fitness! One very thin woman I knew ballooned from a size 2 to a 16 after one year of being a night shift nurse! Be careful and you can do this.
-
That's the spirit! Youll notice a difference soon! :)
-
It will keep getting easier to eat each day as long as you keep eating! Gotta keep your body used to eating and wanting food, and your stomach able to hold it!
-
I promise you wont be a blimp! Try some ice cream ...its easy to eat and get calories from it even when youre full!
-
I don't know what it is about night shifts, but they do seem to be a special challenge! One new nurse I know gained from a size 2 (tiny) to a 16 the first year of her career! Good Luck!

It IS rough getting older....I was 135 pounds at age 35, and 4 years later I'm 205, at 5'9.....it just all changes!
