I'm not getting into a debate on any of these....I'm just going to state them and leave. But feel free to argue among yourselves and say rude things about me if it makes you feel better...I really won't mind. -There are foods that are just bad for you. Sure, you can lose weight eating them (if the blood sugar swings don't…

I only count net carbs. For me, low carb diets are by far the best option and net carbs are relevant for that. Fiber is not a problem, so I don't count it.

You're not injured, just very out of shape. It will get easier as you get more fit and more used to exercise. Next time, take it slower and try stretching after...that often prevents significant soreness later.

There are MANY, many keto people here. Most ignore the main forum, and instead post in one or both of these groups: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1143-keto These groups are a much better source of keto information than this…

I eat almonds most days....I love the taste and need the fat. Also, you should review the research on almonds. The body does not absorb all of the calories from almonds (due to the structure, it is very difficult to break it down completely and absorb it all), so they are actually less calories than the label claims. Same…

You look great...congrats!

I just bake it...mine is always tender. I usually either coat it with some dijon mustard alone or with parmesan cheese, or I do a yogurt marinade. Yogurt marinades make the most tender chicken I've ever had. But even when I just use salt & pepper with some olive oil, it is still tender...you just can't overcook it.

I haven't used any fitness trackers or heart rate monitors, but if you are having difficulty getting your heart rate high enough by walking, you can easily fix that by setting the treadmill at an incline. On days I don't feel like running, or want to let some minor injury heal without the stress of running, I often will…

I think you have to make it...I've never seen Cauliflower crust sold in stores. You CAN buy the cauliflower already riced...that is the labor intensive part based on the recipes I looked at (never actually tried it though.) Trader Joe's sells riced cauliflower.

I usually drink at least 160 ounces. Sometimes more if I am outside, or exercise intensely. If I drink any less, I feel thirsty and I detest that feeling. I think I just need more water than many people.

If IF helped, try to give that another try. If you can stick to it most of the time, gradually it will become easier to stick to it all of the time. It's all trial and error...keep trying things to see what works for you. If you have a bad day...or a few...just get back on course and put it behind you.

Are you actually hungry, or do you just want to eat? Because they are two different issues and I would have different advice depending on which it is. If you are actually hungry, you really should consider changing WHAT you eat. 300 grams of carbs is a lot. If you reduce that, and add a little more protein and fat, it…

Not a faux pas, but it's just really, really casual. Just putting on a different pair of shoes will really upgrade the entire look. With nicer shoes and dark wash jeans, you can go almost anyplace except for the most formal occasions. Good shoes just make you look very put together.

The styles in the pics are fine, except: No skinny jeans. I hate them. Many other women hate them. Some like them, but the majority do not. I'm talking about women in their 30's and 40's when I express this hatred for skinny jeans on men. It's possible younger women may feel differently...you're 29 so my opinion may not be…

Yes, same for me. The only way I defeated the carb and sweet cravings permanently was to drastically reduce white sugar and most carbs (other than green veggies and a little fruit) I know a lot of people claim moderation is the key...but trying to moderate is MUCH more difficult than just cutting it out completely for many…

I understand that because you are not a church goer you will not meet people in church. However, I don't understand why being liberal is a barrier. I am a conservative, and had no problems making friends in liberal New York City and two other major liberal east coast cities. As long as you are tolerant, there is no reason…

If you would consider traveling, you should look into Brazil. Plastic surgery is extremely common there and I was told they have more plastic surgeons per capita than anywhere in the world. I don't know anybody who has had a tummy tuck specifically, but I used to work with a woman who went to Brazil for plastic surgery and…

I think most of the commercial brands are Kansas City style...which are very sweet tomato based sauces. There are styles that are vinegar based that have little or no sugar. They use that type in North Carolina often. I don't know of any brands, or if you would need to make your own. There are also mustard style sauces,…

Thanks. Sorry, I just misinterpreted and overreacted. Walls of text with no voice or body language cues make online deciphering tricky...hazard of message boards!

I hate stores that organize with the ethnic sections. If I want to buy chick peas, I just buy the cheapest can of chick peas...but the goya brand (often but not always cheaper) is in a different section than all the other chick peas. Even stranger... I buy chicken and beef bouillon. One store I shop at sells Knorr bouillon…

Depending on the cardio you do, you can also get strength training benefits. Running sprints will build lower body muscle, as will hiking. I did thousands of squats and lunges, many with weights...and never developed my pancake butt. But six months of weekly hiking worked miracles...no more pancake butt for me.

It's also important for cardiovascular health. You don't need either to lose weight. But if you want to actually be healthy, you need at least some cardio.

I have no idea if it is in all Costcos, but it is in the ones near me. Worth looking into for people who drink soda (it does taste better than American coke...I am not a regular soda drinker, but I can taste the difference.)
-
I did not say cardio is essential for weight loss, so I'm not sure why you are even responding to me in this fashion. If you read the OP you would realize that we were specifically asked what we recommended in terms of exercise to help with weight loss. That is what I addressed.

They can buy Mexican coke year round...it is made with real sugar. Costco sells it.

Cardio burns more calories than strength training, though adding some strength training will help preserve muscle. Personally, I would hold off on the trainer. Start a simple strength training program on your own, even if it is body weight exercises or a circuit of machines at the gym. Add in lots of cardio. Once you get…

I wouldn't recommend low fat AND low carb. The two really don't work well together. Most people who eat low carb eat moderate or high fat. Most who eat low fat eat a lot of carbs. Unless your doctor has given you specific guidance (and defined what exactly he means by low, because low is different things to different…

Yes, it exists. But it is less common than many people believe. I know so many people who claim to have been in love many times...in my opinion, they have NOT been in love many times. They have been in lust, or had some fondness, or great affection, or very strong liking coupled with attraction, or some attachment that can…

10 pounds. This range makes no difference at all in how my clothes fit. At the higher end, my face starts to look a little fuller, so I would realize it's time to cut back even if I didn't weigh myself. I'm 5'10" though...you don't see a few pounds one way or the other on me.

I don't use any Apple products, so can't answer that part of your question. I use the Runkeeper app. I have the free version, although they also have a premium version. It does everything I need it to do...track my runs and hikes, give speed, elevation change, distance, etc. like all apps do. There are also some training…
