Mike Rowe said the following in an article on CNN, and it was a wake up call for me: "What you do, who you are with, and how you feel about the world around you are completely up to you." My recommendation to you: Stop letting him hurt your feelings. If this sounds harsh, it's not meant to be, but it's a fact that many…

Jemhh: Wow, I haven't even considered doing the overall measurements, though I have an old book where I had them done a few years ago. I should start doing full body measurements too! So I understand where you're coming from with the tape location. The way I was trained to tape is for the waist, at the narrowest part, so…

You're so right, those fluctuating pounds can be so frustrating! And I'd been doing some reading that women's hormones can get so out of whack and it can really mess with body weight. Sometimes it really sucks being a woman. I love how you're keeping your mojo up, though. It's so important to recognize your achievements,…

Wow, congrats on the weight loss! That's great! I don't know if the 1-2 pounds is a guideline or a rule, but if you're losing by means other than crash dieting, I can buy that many pounds going so quick. It could be a lot of bloat and water weight your losing, which is great. Thanks for sharing! Keep it up!

I cut back on strachy carbs and ate colorful salads and protein as often at each meal as I could. I ate a lot of fish. I worked out 3…

Here's an article I think might help, from Women's Health Magazine: http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/weight-exercises-women It discusses the benefits of adding weight training to working out. Keep in mind, muscle weighs more than fat. When you cause microtears in your muscles from resistance training, water "fills"…

Hi! I just gave birth in August, and I am trying to lose those last pounds from pregnancy weight. I am definitely comforted to see all the encouraging comments on here, especailly those that say weaning helps, which gives me something to look forward to. I agree that we shouldn't be looking at the scale all the time,…

Hi! I just gave birth in August, and I am also breast feeding. I've been trying to find the right balance as well. I read that 1 oz of milk burns about 10 calories, so maybe you're estimating your calories too high on that. It may be best to ask your doctor. Also, if its true that it takes a 3500 caloried deficit to lose a…
