I'm shocked there are surgeons that will perform the surgery if you don't have preop mental health and nutritional counseling. I thought most insurance companies required 6 months on some sort of weight loss plan before they would even approve it. Either way, best of luck no matter what you decide.

Don't put frozen meat in the slow cooker. It can spend too much time in the danger zone as it cooks and you can end up with something you really don't want mixed in with your food.

I used to let our little girl watch TV in the same room when I worked out. She always seemed to enjoy watching cartoons with me. It was almost like she didn't know I was exercising also.

I have lots of serious knee problems including osteoarthritis and a failed ACL reconstruction. Cycling, swimming and the elliptical are the right answers, but at this point it sounds like you need a doctor more than low impact exercises.

I would talk to another doctor. As a biomedical engineer that has had way worse knee problems, I can't believe that is truly the answer.
