"Hoscience" is made of DIAMONDS.

Yup, and as Wheelhouse mentioned earlier, another plant food that has been specifically bred to be different in the modern era is ALMONDS. Paleolithic people didn't eat ALMONDS (but likely did eat the seeds of the wheat ancestor plants) because they were DEADLY POISONOUS. But hybridized wheat=BAD and hybridized…

If you believe the Paleo/Crossfit True Believers I know, cavefolk ate chocolate covered bacon and did a metric sht-ton of burpees. The theories behind Paleo diets are anthropological fanfiction. Paleolithic people likely ate a lot of bugs and grubs. Funny you don't see that much these days. Also, prehistoric people most…

I suspect you may not be logging accurately and/or are eating back 100% of the calorie burn estimate that bike is giving you (it's likely quite over generous). I'm particularly wondering if "cut out treats" is the only way you are really "reducing calories." Because, seriously, that won't do it. You need to weigh and log…

And, that's maybe a month a year? I mean...we've only seen GRASS over the last month or two....the foraging life...it's not for us.

They were very careful to say that it was only the branches of the mango/avocado/orange trees that passed over the public sidewalk that provided their food. And, again, new England resident laughs. Because, seriously. This "fresh avocados falling in the streets" thing happens for maybe 50 people per year worldwide?

See, now I thought I would get less cheese per serving than I actually do. I have a cheese plane that cuts whisper thin slices of hard cheeses, and, believe me, there are a LOT of slices in an ounce of sharp cheddar, if you slice it super thin. Of course, if you are like CERTAIN HUSBANDS and insist upon taking bites…

Oh, no. Should we start a pool as to when we'll see the first meeting of the "Beyonce fruit diet" and "waist cincher" threads?
-
Oh! Maybe they were freegans? IDK, it was a show about odd diet groups. There was a segment on the dumpster-divers (not actual homeless people, but hipsters who live off garbage in Brooklyn) as well. Maybe those are the freegans? Who knows. I just sat there and laughed. Where I live, the bears eat all the garbage, and 9…

Don't Fruitarians live off the fruit that grows on trees in people's yards but are on branches overhanging the sidewalk? I saw some documentary about some people that did that, and "Fruitarians" are what they called themselves. They had groups in LA an San Diego, and urged it as a "lifestyle" for everyone. My New…

You aren't married or mother to any of these guys, so I can't really figure out why you got tasked with cooking for them in the first place. Weigh out your portion of meat and potato, both are good foods to include in your diet. Serve a salad with every meal and take a large portion. Set out raw veggies and dip to go with…

They could give it a cutsie spelling and get away with it, I bet...."DiAr'ee-Ha! The latest FAT BURNING SUPERFOOD from the ancient Aztecs! Our secret Montezuma formula will SHED POUNDS FAST!!!!ELEVENTY!!!"

All those sesame and chia seeds I was sprinkling on food? Have WAY more calories than I thought.

They call it "Bootea" because you lose water weight out your booty. Its a silly scam, don't be fooled. Eat less, move more, stay hydrated.

Meh, just choose what looks appealing off the menu and guesstimate your log entries. Round up on your estimates and eat light the rest of the day. Do some extra light exercise (like a brisk walk) and don't eat back the calories on that. Eating out at a proper restaurant (not a chain) with friends and/or family is…

I think the main benefit of feeding your kid what you're eating is that they are more likely to develop a taste for your cooking. I had a friend who prepared 2 dinners every night because her kids "wouldn't eat" anything but chicken nuggets, hot dogs, or pizza. (That was a huge amount of projection on her part, though,…

I just didn't feed my kids solids until they could handle some chunks, I just kept them on the boob 5 EVA. But, good for you for putting in that effort.

I think that OP: 1) is about 13 2) just watched a bunch of K-pop videos and/or Korean teen soap operas 3) thought the models and actresses hired to perform in said videos and tv shows were adorable All reasonable things (except for being 13 on an 18-and-over website, naughty child), but, honey, you need to love YOUR body…

Eh, I think the hilariously-named "Go Lightly" is prescription only, but when my husband had his scope, they just had him take Miralax, which is out in the general pharmacy in the poop-aid aisle.

Excellent and ON POINT deployment of Margaret Cho, @rabbitjb

It's on account of my being a big meanie.

Yup. And soup and chili is no slouch in the sodium department, unless you are making it at home from scratch. (and then sometimes it tastes terrible without tons of salt--looking at you, chicken noodle)

Why do the math that way? I weigh at night and then again in the am and do the math that way. 4 POUNDS A NIGHT LOSS FTW

Sushi is food, and unless you are married to cooked fish, not a cheat. There is no such thing as a cheat. Your body logs everything you eat, you get to choose where to fit things in and where to indulge. Nothing is "free," but lots of things are worth the occasional splurge.

Except that that butter tea is delicious and nothing like bulletproof coffee. On the otherhand, I bet oily coffee really gets things moving. How to make Real Deal (ish, since you probably don't have access to yak butter):

Not if it's skin...and lipo has so many hazards and small print. Really not recommended. Read the pinned post in this forum called "so you want a nice stomach." Lowering your body fat and building your muscles will help to improve your midsection.

Regular coffee, 2T of Half and Half. 40 cal, and delicious. But, then, I find sweetened beverages to be gross in general, so your mileage may vary.
-
Fiber, too. That'll "clean you out," so to speak.
-
Oh, wait....they aren't showing sodium in the diaries anymore? All 5 of my chosen categories are still showing. (like I said, I swapped out sodium and sugar for fiber and calcium long ago) Can you open up your diary so we can see?

I substitute gelato, which is slightly lower in fat and calories. Otherwise, what's wrong with ice cream? Calcium, wee bits of protein, and lots of deliciousness. I wait until the end of the day, and if I have managed to save 200 calories? I always reach for a nice 100g serving of gelato. YUM.
