Mine made me SUPER hungry all the time.

I'm 5'2 and 121 and I'm wearing a size 8 pants. For me, the 15 lbs I lost didn't make a dent in my stomach, so my abdomen is still a size 8--but my hip, butt and legs are a size 4-6. So my pants look totally weird. I recently found that New york and Company's runway style pants seem to work better. Keep at it, hopefully it…

Definitely contact Customer Service. They're great. I've made the mistake of throwing mine in the washing machine (multiple times) and they've always sent me a replacement despite my stupidity!

Be sure to set your MFP settings to sedentary and set the negative calorie adjustments so you can let fitbit calculate your actual calories burned.

No. As someone who also has Hashimoto's, you can swing between both hypo- and hyper- thyroid conditions, even if your TSH is normal, as the body's immune system attacks the thyroid. She could also have another autoimmune condition, they tend to go in pairs. Most endos, mine included, will test you for gluten intolerances…

I've tried both the One and Flex. While I prefer having something on my wrist, I found the flex to have poor battery life, trouble charging and keeping a charge on a regular basis. I'm back to my One right now and the battery life and charging ability is much better. The only downfall with the One is the sleep band isn't…

Did you wear it to sleep? It tracks tossing and turning as steps since you burn calories. I've found both my jawbone Up24 and my fitbit to be accurate.

I'm 5'1" and my goal weight is 115. I'm 121 now and I'll re-evaluate when I get to 115, see if I want to lose some more or do a body recomp.

I am! Kind of. I have a non celiac gluten allergy and Hashimoto's which means I try to avoid gluten. I dont always manage it(especially when people parade danishes around the office!) But I've had good luck losing weight with it. Whether or not I eat wheat/gluten i try to keep my carbs around 150. I found I feel better…

I don't have a fitbit but I have a Jawbone Up 24 which is practically the same thing! I love it so much. It helps me take more steps, walk more miles. I'm a competitive person so if I see i'm not in 1st place or something I start walking more! Definitely has helped.

I'm 5'1" and 123 lbs. Waist is 29 inches and naval is 36 :( So far all my weight loss has been from my boobs and my butt!

I would start doing more weight lifting. That way you can gain more muscle on your chest. Make sure you're using progressively heavier weights and lifting to muscle exhaustion. Maybe try some calf raises and other leg exercises besides squats. It will happen eventually! Since you can't afford a gym, try lifting items you…

The tempura is what is giving you the calories. I usually stick to nigiri(plain rice and raw fish) or sashimi(just the raw fish) and stay away from tempura and things with sauces. Those calories add up real fast! Check out my diary (its open) to get a better feel for the calorie counts. I eat sushi A LOT.

I think this is the study showing how certain bacteria in overweight individuals extract more caloric value from food than others in thin people. But without the full text I'm not sure. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16033867 And again...mice. Edit: nope. it's this one. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17183312

Found it. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3829625/

There was. It involved transplanting fecal matter from one twin to the other. One was overweight, the other wasn't. I can't remember which way it was (overweight to thin or thin to overweight) but the result was that the person who recieved the transplant became the body type of the twin.

There was a study recently that showed that the type of bacteria colonizing someone's intestines can affect how many calories someone is able to digest from food. Someone who is overweight/obese or WAS previously have a different set of bacteria that actually cause you to extract more calories from the same food as a…

My diary is open. Feel free to look! I have an Up24, so I put myself as sedentary and let the Up calculate my calories burned. I tend to treat myself on the weekends-- I go to the mall and walk around for about 5 miles and then eat some sushi. It's expensive but low calorie and high protein. And it feels like cheating even…

I'm also having this problem. I know MFP was having issues syncing with fitbit earlier that they have resolved. Guess they still havent gotten to the root of the issue with Up.

I've found that i have trouble with really intense exercise--I get exhausted, the rest of the day is spent sleeping-- but I do cardio and weight lifting just fine. I've started power walking around the mall since (air conditioning, the A/C in my gym is terrible) and that way I'm not compelled to run and blow all my energy.…

Wow, this thread got nasty real fast. Way to be supportive guys. I've given up flour for health reasons as well. Sugar is a little harder, but I'm working on it. It can be done. When I first gave up gluten i did notice a weight loss--which was something I had tried and struggled with previously. I also noticed that gluten…

I have a chronic low level kind of inflammation related to my gluten allergy, which my endo thinks also triggered my Hashimoto's. For me, trying to get the inflammation under control is key in treating both of those conditions. I usually feel the inflammation as fatigue, sometimes nerve pain (gluten attacks the nerves in…

I like my jawbone better than my fitbit. I had a lot of trouble charging my fitbit, but the jawbone just works. That being said, my mode button on my Up24 fell off and I have to get another one via the warranty. I also like that the jawbone learns your exercise patterns so it will periodically ask you if you are working…

I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's 2 days ago. My endo wants me to continue to stop eating gluten/wheat--and since I've been doing that I've actually lost 7 lbs. I couldn't lose weight for the life of me when I was eating wheat. I tried so hard. She doesn't have me on any hormones yet, we're still testing. In addition…

I'm 5'1, 33 and i'm trying for 110-115. I'm around 130 now, and that's too much for me. When I was in my 20's I couldn't budge from 98-100 lbs, and that was WAY too little. People would always assume I was anorexic. I looked like a zombie. That being said I'm also a 34DDD right now and am hoping to return to my previous…
