I also think the body shape is genetic. I wish I could kind of swap with you a little bit. At the start of my weight loss, my waist was about 37-38 inches and my thighs were about 40 inches or so. Now, over 20kg down, my waist is 28'' and my thighs are 38''. My waist is now tiny compared to my hips, and I just don't think…

I would almost certainly go over my calories, but I would also definitely log them - not logging indulgences would be the beginning of the end of my maintenance.

That's great news. Oppo is excellent, but more competition in that segment would be great. I tried Halo Top couple of weeks ago when I was in the States, and I loved it.
-
I love both the salted caramel and the chocolate Oppo flavours, and I've been eating them all summer. Vanilla is ok but nothing special in itself. Mint ice cream sounds disgusting to me (like eating toothpaste - why would anyone do that?) so I can't comment on that one.

I’m 42, 5’5 and maintaining 137lbs by eating about 2050 calories a day while walking about 11,000 steps on average and no other exercise (unless I count playing music as exercise). Given that MFP sets my maintenance calories while sedentary at 1610, that means I earn about 440 calories on average for my steps. I’ve been…

Ooh, stop the press - maybe changing the time zone did it after all - it's suddenly self corrected from 170 to 550 calories. Phew! I can enjoy my jambalaya for dinner.
-
It's recognised all the steps, it's just not giving me all the earned calories for them :(
-
Hm, I am in a different time zone (I'm normally in the U.K.) and it's true I changed the time zone on the Fitbit but not on MFP - I have just corrected that. No change with exercise calories as the result, at least not yet.

The skin is the best part. Yum.

In one of the posts you mentioned peanut butter - definitely weigh your peanut butter rather than going by spoons! A teaspoon is meant to be about 5g - due to its delicious stickiness I could easily grab 30g of peanut butter with a teaspoon. Those things add up.

Ho much do you "cheat" on your cheat days?

I wish my loss rate was ever as fast as 7lbs per months. That's a weekly loss of 1.75lbs, requiring a daily deficit of 875 calories. That's phenomenal in my book - I can't eat at a deficit of more than say 400 calories per day without wanting to gnaw my arm off. So well done you!
-
I'm more of the opposite - I love having dinner food for breakfast - I'll often have leftovers from the night before at breakfast, particularly curries and stews. The other day I actually had pork chops for breakfast.

I let Fitbit count all my steps; it's been a very reliable companion throughout my weight loss and now when I'm maintaining. 5-7 km is quite significant so I'd count it one way or another, i.e either through manually logging or through a fitness tracker.

I've been living off Oppo ice cream all summer. It's absolutely delicious, particularly the salted caramel and the chocolate flavours. I'm not a fan of mint in ice cream so I don't like the mint flavour, but there's that one and vanilla also to try. I've been buying it in Whole Foods (I'm in London) and it's been on…

Thank you @JeromeBarry1 - but what do you mean with your last sentence? Skin condition? Edited to add: unless you mean the large blotches covering my face ;)

Thanks for bumping my thread earlier today! I'm glad to report I've been successfully maintaining since my original post in March, and in fact I've dropped another pound or two since then. PS I should finally have the opportunity to wear this dress this coming Saturday :)

Ooh I just thought of another one - slightly burnt rice or risotto at the bottom of the pan, that turns into a kind of a crispy rice cake thing. Yum.

Why do people always bring up a 1200 calorie target? I always think such low calorie goals are quite risky for people who had issues with bingeing in the past. OP, I'm 5'5 and went from 185 to 137, slowly over a year and a half. Never went as low as 1200, I started at about 1600 and continued slowly at about 1800 calories…

Very positive for me - I lost close to 50 lbs, and have been maintaining for a few months now. I'm the lightest I've been since my early 20's and I eat chocolate every day. What's not to like?

My only "trick" with eating out is that it's much easier to stay within my calories if I go out for lunch than dinner. I can have a light breakfast, then say a pizza or a burger for lunch, and a very light dinner and I'd easily be within my calories for the day. If I go out for dinner, though, I kind of still need a normal…

Good luck, OP! My drinks of choice when going out are: Single shot of gin with slimline tonic (about 75 calories) Single shot of whiskey with Diet Coke White wine spritzer (small glass of white wine with sparkling water/ soda water added to it) I log all my drinks and try not to have too much - I prefer eating my calories!

Oh, measuring ice cream is my pet peave as well! I try to convert ml to grams based on the weight of the whole packet. My current favourite, Oppo ice cream here in the U.K., weighs about 320g for a 500ml pot, so I weigh 65 or so grams and log 100ml. But the conversion will vary for different types of ice cream, as they'll…

For me it's on day 4 or so of my period that I'd typically have the whoosh - it's because I spend most of day 2 and 3 peeing (sorry about too much information).

I eat sushi once or twice per week as it's one of my favourite foods. A sachet of soy sauce weighs only 10g or so, but every single time I have sushi with soy sauce I weigh 1-3 lbs more the following morning because of water weight. I know now to ignore it, it's all about the long term downward trend. See all the ups and…

My macros are never perfect and I don't even look at micronutrients - and I'm assuming my data isn't perfect either, and nothing to worry about. What I mean is, not all the foods in the database will even record amount of vitamin C or types of fat - so any totals on things like that are very approximate. Even with macros,…

Liver! Love liver. And chicken hearts. I also love - and always have loved, even as a child - all the chewy, fatty and gristly bits of meat you can get in a stew or in a roast - I always found plain lean meat somewhat boring. My language (Croatian) has a great name for those off-cut bits of meat - žlundre. The way the word…

Pistachios. But more than anything else, freshly baked bread, still warm. I could eat a mountain of freshly baked bread.

5'5 and 138lbs here, 38-28-38, and I'm now comfortably a UK size 10. I've been maintaining for the last three months and I'm not intending to go any lower than I am now.

Tjjody, I wish you best of luck with your weight loss. I do want to challenge your idea that you are in starvation mode - that doesn't really exist, and one doesn't get to being overweight by not eating. I would highly recommend you use MFP to start logging exactly how much you are eating and drinking on a daily basis, so…
