@kaylajane11 - you look brilliant! How tall are you?

5'4" SW - 184lb CW - 174lb GW - 140-144lb I think if I went any lower, I would look ill. I carry my weight quite well. Plus, I will start lifting very soon, so it is more about a loss of fat and inches, rather than weight loss.

Holy crap! @bradders33 You look fantastic!!

Thank you... I am blushing!! Haha. And thank you, @cwolfman13 for the advice too. Realistically, I don't think I will be in the weight room for a looong time! But it is definitely a goal to work towards. I have my eye on a dumbbell and kettlebell sets on ebay which I will buy over the weekend. In order to build…

Meeeee tooooo! :astonished: Haha. Thank you so much for the advice too. I have hear a lot about JM. @stuffinmuffin suggested the 30 day shred. But I think I will build up to that one. Thanks again!!

Brilliant. Thank you all for your advice! So, if I buy some dumbbells and kettle bells and begin with some routines at home, and then as I get stronger, I will get a gym membership and boldly go where few women will go - the weight room! Does that sound good?

That's amazing!! That is a new ultimate goal of mine, once I get my fitness up! What did you do to prepare?
-
Great idea, thanks! I will look into that as well. Ta!

I always assumed that weights and strength training were for bulking up and toning up and would not be able to assist with weight loss.. But I have been researching after seeing the success stories on MFP, and I can see that it is about fat loss, not weight loss. I am very excited about it now, and I will be buying some…

I've literally just signed up to Nerd Fitness!! It looks amazing! I'm on ebay looking at dumbbell sets now! Thank you all for the advice.. I will look into it and get started right away. Thank you!

That would be great!! Thank you so much!

That's another thing - I don't currently have a gym membership. I am doing all of my working out at home or taking walks around my town. I am guessing that I would need to have PT sessions to start strength training?

Zombies are my motivation too!! I want to survive the zombie apocalypse! Once I've lost a bit more of my excess weight, I am going to do the C25K programe, Zombies, RUN! Cannot wait. If that won't motivate me to run, nothing will!!

You look gorgeous!! Well done. I have alwayd tried to lose weight for the wrong reasons in the past. I am so glad that you ended up doing it for you!! That's what I am going this time, and it feels wonderfully different to the previous attempts. I feel like I cannot fail! How can I fail myself? But seriously - WOW! You…

If you make your diary visible, people will be able to advise you on what you can do to improve.. But it really seems like you're doing great so far. We are the same height, but I have 10lb on you! And I am eating 1200 calories and trying to do some 30 min bursts of cardio 4-5 times a week. I've lost 10lb in 4…

I had to lose 10lb to do it, and I have just searched for this on the internet for reference: So, what weighs 10 pounds? Here are just a few examples: At home: •Average three-month old baby •Laundry basket filled with towels or jeans •Medium size bowling ball •Small microwave oven •Medium size cat or small dog •Most vacuum…

Morning! Scouser here. I have always struggled with my weight, and all of the diets I have attempted in the past have been for a specific event. My best friend’s wedding, holidays etc. This time it is different. I put on two stone in the space of two months, and I am now 3 stone overweight. I had a moment where I…

I have a similar problem.. I started running and was doing well (for me: 2 mins non-stop) then, I gained weight (over 20lb in 2 months) which is why I am back on here trying to sort myself out. I'm going really well and I've lost 7.5lb so I tried running again, but I got terrible pain above my ankles, in my shins. Someone…
