I think this goes for selfies in general- not just gym selfies.

I'll agree with this poster! Toning up may make you feel better. You can still lose those dreaded five pounds and not be happy. From what I've researched, waist training is a slow, painful process. And it's definitely not good for your body/insides. I blame the media.

I'm not for sure if I had a particular number in mind. I just know that I hit my highest at 170 during the holidays, and I was determined from that point on. I'm 5'8", so my healthy range is around 135-165. I have fluctuated between 165-169 the past 5 years, but as soon as I saw it bump up to the 170 range, it made me…

I think there's probably several contributing factors to your weight gain. How have you tried to lose weight? How long did you try? I notice you say "many attempts." I know it's easy to get frustrated, but stick with it! I will say, I've heard of women gaining weight when getting the implant, which is one reason why I…

I agree completely! If you're not eating take-out every day, ONE day is not going to kill you. You can make an effort and look up caloric content and decide on a best alternative-- but don't starve yourself. If I know I have an event planned, I attempt to make wiser choices that day, which allow myself to splurge later. I…

Thanks! When I joined a gym a year ago, I started both but wasn't seeing the results I wanted. Then i got frustrated and reverted back to my old ways and quit doing as much. I am thinking about focusing on cardio and calisthenics until I get some weight off, then when i get down to where I want to be, work on toning up and…

I am 5'8". I am currently at my highest of 169lbs. My lowest I've ever been the past few years was around 162-- but I wasn't serious about dieting. I exercised regularly last year but only lost around 5lbs and I got frustrated. I did lose inches, which is important, but the number on the scale bothered me. The past few…

I would like to join. Work has been so busy, and I've put on the weight I worked so hard to lose. Hopefully this will help motivate me to get to the gym, even when it's dark, cold, and rainy when I get off work. This is my first MFP challenge! Let's do it! Name: Erica Height: 5' 8'' Starting Weight (1/1): Goal Weight…

I'm 5"8", currently weighing about 168ish. I would like to get down to 150, possibly even 140. I am now eating about 1,000-1,200 calories a day. I've never been below the 158-160 range, but I'm ready to get rid of this stomach. Even when I was eating right, exercising, and lifting weights, I only got down to about 160.
