That sounds terrible! I mean what wakes you up if not glucose gel? I don't know if this is a new problem for you or if it is something you have always had. If it's new have they ruled out an insulin producing tumor? Have you considered a continuous blood glucose monitor? (I am assuming you have not seen these yet, if you…

Artificial sweeteners taste horrid to me. I have yet to come across one that didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. Sucralose is the worst, the flavor sticks around for hours. Some people do have reactions to artificial sweeteners. For Some It triggers migraines and others have digestive issues. Which is another reason…

You can't squeeze blood from a stone. Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do except cope. I mean, you could try talking to him and tell him that if he keeps speaking to you in this way that you will no longer come and do what he needs you to do. Maybe ask him if he cares about how you feel. It may sound…

I certainly don't mean to imply that a doctor should not be seen, and she has not mentioned whether she has seen a doctor. But it has been mentioned plenty so I just didn't think it needed repeating. At any rate, I hope she gets it worked out. She is moving in the right direction as far as getting her weight down. As far…

I drink whole milk. 2% tastes terrible to me.

People are offering suggestions, NOT holding her at gunpoint to try the suggestions. I am certain that the OP is plenty capable of sifting through any and all advice given and then decide what sounds good and what does not. I will speak for myself when I say that I have had a lot of foot pain the past several months. Some…

I was at the grocery store earlier and I thought of this thread when I found a lost EBT card in the parking lot. It sparked an educational conversation with my child.

Lucky me! I live a food taxing state! I never realized some states didn't tax groceries!

In the US taxes are like Frank's Red Hot. They, " put that Chit on everything!"

Yes it is. The impact you would get from say walking or running is not there. But I also suggested starting out with a bounce rather than a jump to ease into it and make sure it wouldn't irritate the condition. You also think THAT is a bad idea so yeah. You apparently want it both ways.

We can only go by what people say. People who are advocating the "big is beautiful" agenda have no problem saying so. People with medical problems may not elaborate on their problem but usually have no problem saying that they have some kind of medical problem. That's all I can tell you.

No obviously unless a person has some thing that is easily seen no one can know. And while the two can look similar a little observation shows the difference. For example, I have a friend who has been overweight for as long as I have known her in the past 25+ years. Even if you didn't know her well but were "friends" on…

We are under no obligation to accept a friend request. I like to keep my friends few because it better enables me to be more supportive. It is nice to have friends here because we can get a group of friends with similar goals, personalities, and interests or even similar medical problems or life circumstances. Some people…

To be fair, most of the time (though sometimes not) people are not referring to those who have medical problems such as yours. There is a difference between having a medical condition and otherwise healthy people using "body acceptance" as an excuse to remain overweight. Many people don't add that fine print to their…

To me, encouraging and promoting "fatness" is no different from encouraging and promoting anorexia. Both are unhealthy and dangerous.

Her pain was specifically said to be from plantar fasciitis. You do not need to be morbidly obese to have this. I weighed 125 lbs the first time I had it. It was extremely painful. I think if the OP wants to find good options that won't irritate her condition then it is better to help by suggesting things that she could…

Who said "just jumping"? There are a variety of body movements involved in an actual rebound workout. But as with ANY exercise diving in head first is a bad idea, which is why starting slow is a good idea. I also don't see where the OP mentioned being morbidly obese. She said she is overweight. Unless she clarifies it's…

If there is cabbage I will binge on it. Not for the cabbage soup diet but because I love cabbage, throw in some tomato sauce, okra, corn and onions and I will eat my weight in the stuff. I suppose it would assist in weight loss due to the fact that vegetables tend to be low calorie. So maybe add some cabbage soup to your…

Mini trampoline. They refer to exercise done on this as "rebounding". One very good thing is you can control your bounce. Your feet don't even have to leave the trampoline, you can bounce by just sinking your weight into the trampoline as opposed to actually jumping any height. And since it is a very low impact workout you…
-
Just another suggestion, have you considered rebounding? It can be a great workout and is easy on the body. A mini-trampoline will cost around 30-40 bucks.

I did not argue about what people say is a "valid" form of moderation. I said what I have seen a lot of. You are arguing what hasn't been disputed. Moderation means something different to me than it does to you, maybe it means something for you that it does not mean for that guy over there. I even said, "Moderation comes…

Please go read for yourself. I am not going to sift through threads or quotes to help you see what you likely already see but refuse to admit to seeing. This whole thread has turned into a neighborhood brawl in the most absurd way. Enjoy the rest of your stay here on this endlessly growing MFP rumble.

I never knew that! Thanks or that tid bit!

If we want to get technical the liquid measuring cups are not the same as dry measuring cups. Myself, I weigh measured liquid portions and stick to the gram weight. I hate dragging out a bunch of measuring tools! https://cooksillustrated.com/how_tos/5450-dry-versus-liquid-measuring-cups

I hate it when I let someone cross the road and they take their sweet time making it to the other side. Just move your tale!

When a person says what they mean, and they say it a LOT around here I am repeating not projecting. I speak on what I see. You don't even have to like it.

Because there are so many thousands of comments on these boards you will easily find "so many" of almost anything if you look for it. Many push making it fit daily, many advocate a cheat day, many advocate saving it for one when you just want it so bad you don't want to resist. You tell me why so many different views,…

Moderation comes in many forms. I choose to abstain more often. However the kind of moderation most often referred to around here is the "make it fit on a daily basis" moderation.
