  • I love how she *asked* everyone's opinion of the benefit of drinking lemon water, rather than just suggestions on how to choke it down every morning. OP, if you feel it benefits you, do it - and even if it doesn't, the psychological effects of "feeling like it is benefitting you" is so much healthier than the psychological…
  • Love my Charge HR... and I don't have to swing my arms all exaggerated-like. My recommendation is pick one. Any one. Wear it for a week or two without any changes to lifestyle or habit. This is to establish your baseline. Then when there are changes it will be based on your baseline rather than some preconceived formula of…
  • Just finished up with the last "new" patient in the ER, so I am thinking it must be time to step it out or pedal it out, not sure which. I admit, I am only doing it for the 300 extra calories I will get to eat later today!!! Ok, and the feel good thing... Tasha - Straight 8s here. I wish I could do some 12s.. I'd love the…
  • Welcome aboard. Newby here too. Have an underlying autoimmune disorder that has been poking it's head in and out of my world for about 7 years. It's nice to run into other women of similar age and situations. My goal is a healthier lifestyle.... if you want to have moral support friends, I am always up for positive,…
  • OH MY GOD at least one of them is!! ROFL that was too funny!
  • Oh my hell.. .people are funny. I agree with OP, it is silly for people to post a Terms of Service agreement to be friends... It doesn't bother me enough to start a post about it, but it does make me roll my eyes enough that I will chime in on this one. What I am chiming in about isn't necessarily the annoyance running…
  • Night Owl in the house. Hour and a half into my first of 5. Ack. So what kind of work do all of you Night Owls do? Healthcare here.
  • Ok, nice, I for one appreciate the info, as there are times that MFP doesn't have the accurate information when switching options on the drop down menu. I may not have a master's degree... but I know how to say Thanks and move on if might benefit others. :)
  • Franklin Covey states it takes 6 weeks of continuous effort to "begin" a habit. Doesn't mean in 6 weeks you will have new habits, it means that in 6 weeks the psychological aspects of doing something regularly will create "memory". I am jumping in on the comment bandwagon only because I feel and empathize with those…
  • Sometimes I will log a "serving size" of nuts or snacks, and then measure out that size and leave that in a dish for me to snack on. I find when I do that I am more honest with myself about the "snacking" I do.. Also, I feel like if I didn't eat all of the snacks in the bowl I can always go back and reduce the intake at…
  • ^^ And no girfriend. ^^ Hmmm.. Imagine that. <Wistfully petting her kitty>
  • First off, yeah for you and for wanting to lift. Second off, I can't speak for anyone but myself, however, with that in mind, I don't give a thought to putting my time in the back with the weights, and I don't give a hoot who is looking. Does your facility have a personal trainer that can get you started on a lifting…
  • Just for those purchasing thru Kohls, you can only use the Kohls cash, you cannot combine any coupon discounts with it. Fine print on the coupons, certain electronic products are exempt from using coupons. But I won't lie, I used my 30 Kohls Cash on it... definately the cheapest in town for the HR. And I love mine.
  • I started with the Flex and upgraded a few months later to the Charge HR. I can say I really enjoy the monitoring, accuracy is relative.. do you monitor your business already? Do you already have a baseline? I started by wearing mine for two weeks without any conscientious changes, then I based all of my goals and…
  • Excellent metamorphosis!!! Keep it up Chica!!!
  • A lot of you people are brutal. You will defend it with "being candid" or "being honest" but the truth of the matter is some of you feed on beating people down. The forums are a toxic place. I expected it to be different than the other general comment forums, being a self improvement platform, but I see now that it really…
  • There are too many other critics in the world to spend one minute criticizing yourself. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/RedRockChic/view/permission-to-behave-badly-736527#comments
  • I used to be a distributor, I only started selling it because all of my friends at the time wanted to buy it once they started seeing the results. It was nearly 20 yrs ago, and I am sure the product has changed a lot. I have friends on it now, and have considered getting back into the routine (consuming not selling)... I…

  • Acid reducers/blockers are effective if taken first thing in the day, prior to any food or beverage. The trick is that these drugs must be in your system 20-30 min prior to digestive juices forming, so prior to having anything else in your stomach. I use omeprazole (Prilosec) it is very effective.
  • Love me some greek yogurt with fresh fruit and sprinkled (covered lol) with grape nuts or a 1/2 serving of Quaker "Warm Cereal" (looks like granola). Very satisfying and not to pricey on the numbers for the food diary!

  • Maybe we could revive the interest in a MFP Night Owls forum... ? I'm an hour into my Friday night.. but there are weeks that are full of Mondays. Anyone else interested?
  • May I suggest to make your increases in increments, like you would if you were trying to trim your calorie intake, only in reverse. Not to look at me now, but I used to be a bit of a liftie. I couldn't breach the 101 mark for almost a year, until a friend turned me on to two finger peanut butter. Literally it is two…
  • Really.. ignorant idiots huh? A**Holes. We all have them.. just some are bleached and look like puckered lips.
  • I have both the Flex and the Charge HR. I can't rave enough about the Charge HR. I've had it a week and I love the extra features and information! I don't like that it doesn't carry a charge for longer than 5 days, and quite frankly it has been more like 3 or 4 days.. but I can't say I had it all the way charged when I…
  • Don't know your age, but I'm in Utah, and have dealt with chronic pain and an auto immune disorder for many years.... it isn't epilepsy, but I am sure it comes with some similar experiences and obstacles... I'm 48, and in it for the lifestyle change.... as well as the weight loss. Welcome!
  • Ok.. so I am a little slow on the uptake.. here is my URL on Fitbit.. //www.fitbit.com/user/2XJQWG Even though we are not close to each other's average daily steps, we can still challenge each other. My goal is to increase my steps from an average of 6500 - 7500 per day. With that in mind, anyone who is interested in…
  • Welcome... and I say from the bottom of my heart.. I feel ya. I have spent years placing everyone's needs before my own. It comes without thought, that is how common it is. I have had to "re-wire" my thinking and have had to start placing "me" in front of the others. It is hard to do. Drop a line, say hi. You are not alone…
  • Hey Hi! Welcome on.. I've been using the Flex for about 1 1/2 months, but have just started using the Charge HR. I would be willing to do challenges with ya tho.. I think the flex and Charge have enough of the same features to challenge each other with! So, do you know what your average daily count is?
  • OH MY HELL... some of these posts make me want to scream. It is called emotional abuse and too many (TOO MANY) people are okay with that and quick to dismiss it or validate it... WE DO NOT HURT PEOPLE WE LOVE. Sigh.
