  • I actually like the idea of a weekly challenge..Maybe for something like week 1..the challenge i.e...steps 10,000 and by week end challenge would be to see how many met goal and went over goal? That way the challenge is out there but the individual would work each day posting what they were able to accomplish. Just an idea?
  • Thank you..he is after my 2nd post op he said I don't need to go back until August, unless of course I have any problems or I'm not getting extension. Everyone tells me the more you walk on it the better it will be..so I think hip replacement must be more difficult, my neighbor had it but she did beautifully. she is back…
  • I walked more yesterday, got up and got two rounds in early as it was suppose to be pretty hot yesterday, but all day we had a breeze so I pushed myself out the door to just do a little bit more.....result...8341 steps....this new knee is beginning to work more and more.
  • Looks like rain here today. I will go to my PT then clean a room, or just take a day and read. LOL
  • Monday..May 15th...I did it.I beat Sunday not by much but I hit 6931 steps.... Now for the ret of my challenge/bucket list I will remember starting right now why I began this journey. I wanted to be heathier and lose the weight. I been fluctuating between 6.8-10 lbs to reach my initial goal. Lately I keep falling into my…
  • Thank you....

  • I ended up at the podiatrist who put a arch under my foot and taped the foot . The taping is what gave me the quickest relief. I also have to wear a tennis shoe with good support, like Brooks, asics, or New Balance #928 or above. If I wear anything else it comes back.
  • 1297 steps yesterday...not too good sounding but I'm moving again. Today I will beat that.
  • Well I am 4 weeks post on my TKR, so my walking has been limited. Today I will get outdoors and begin walking more. I'm a bit late starting but I have to get going again. So here I go.
  • I gave up my creamer so I could have those calories on something I enjoyed more. Maybe try reducing the amount you use in order to stay within your calories.
  • I'm the same age and when I stay on track I also lose about 1 lbs a week. Early on I lost more but ow its slower sometimes even less than a lb. I'm 6 lbs away from my goal. So Im thinking I am pretty much on track. I also just had total knee replacement 3 weeks ago so 'm not doing a lot right now.
  • I am 65.. I added weigh and more weight over the years, got to be 221 lbs more or less at times. Knees hurt, back hurt, not a lot of ambition, noticed cholesterol levels going up though still ok. Found out knee was bone on bone plus other leg has a bend to it. Decided that I see lots of people my age healthy doing things…
  • I use stevia in y coffee or tea, 1 packet. I've been using it for a long time even before I actually was counting the calories. I did cut out my french vanilla cream as that actually added aloof cal/carbs for me overall. Now I can say after 7 months I don't want it or even like it anymore.
  • My friend has the same problem currently takes citalopram, buspirone, and abilify. Has gain over 80 lbs. Its all in her stomach and she literally looks 8 months pregnant. She however isn't concerned right now about her weight. She is the mot stable I have seen her. I think she is also ADD but isn't being treated for that.…
  • OP..Yes you can get pregnant even if you are obese, its just probably not as healthy for you to do so. You say you have been down this road before so get back on. I am also one who will need to log what i eat everyday. I am much older than you but I am getting healthy again. Dump that doctor, that was rude and…
  • calcium plus D, vision +, and a hair,nails, skin vitamin....heck I'm old .
  • Me too, CVS makes a basic brand, kettle corn. I eat the entire bag but the size is only about 3 servings if I remember correct. There must be a bit much sodium in it though I I retain weight whenever I eat it so I limit myself to a bag a week.

  • I agree wit you OP, it is inappropriate for the gym teacher to be telling children they must burn off every calorie, if she is going to teach about nutrition she should be qualified in the field and she should broaden her scope of teaching. Every person is different, we are all sized differently, we all exercise…
  • That normal...if you weigh everyday you will even see fluctuations up and down of .5 to 1-2 lbs. If this bothers you don't weigh every day.
  • I do not eat back my fitbit calories. I only walk I try for the 10,000 steps per day but only about 2 miles of those are active, the rest is just normal activity. If I did active exercise on a regular basis I'd probably eat 1/2 back if I was continuing to lose.
  • Arthritis is weight related as its puts more stress on your arthritic knees and eventually you can or will lose cartilage. I'm bone on bone in one knee and will have a total knee replacement next month. There are days I can hardly hobble without the use of a cane or walker but there are more days that I can. Before I lost…
  • I don't know about weight loss but I enjoy a cup in the afternoon when I get the munchies. I've been replacing snacking with a cup of tea and save my snack for the evening, or vise versa whatever I feel that day.
