  • For me I cut out processed sugar as much as possible and I allow myself sugar from fruit and/or vegetable.
  • I also think it doesn't matter, when I started to just walk..I wasn't burning a lot of calories but just walking made me burn some...as I continue to walk my distance has increased 1/4 mile to sometimes 3 miles. Some days even my speed has increased. Last week I did 3 miles in 56 minutes. I know that isn't great but I have…
  • What jennybeartv said. My friend since being on antipsychotic meds for 4 years has gained 80 lbs and much of it is in her stomach where she looks 8 months pregnant. But she says she hasn't gained all that much, but she will only take headshot of herself. LOL She is not there yet wanting to count calories, too much work she…
  • For me I probably would eat what I normally do but I would start logging faithfully. When I quite over 40 years ago I knew food tasted better but didn't realize that I was eating more of it, so if I knew about logging back then it may have helped me. So stay within your calories .
  • My niece was feeling this way too. She went gluten free . It has really helped her. She is 30 and never had a gluten allergy but she says she feels so much better.

  • My daughter bought the packaged Soylent. Her intention was to replace one meal a day with it. It is a meal replacement and supposedly has all the nutrients you need. It tastes bland like pancake mix. She used one package and the other 5 lie in the kitchen pantry, She bought frozen fruit to mix in it but hasn't tried , in…
  • I too have a fitbit charge 2, but as I am sedentary on many days in between I do not eat back my calories. I also have it linked to mfp so I know if I am having a particular bad day and want to snack I can allow myself to eat back 1/2 the calories burnt.
  • All I can say is congratulations! I've been waiting to hear the news! I'm pretty sure the vitamin shoppe will help. Some of those stores a pretty knowledgeable on their products.
  • If I go over on say my sugar or fat and remain under calorie I don't seem to lose weight but I do maintain. So I'm watching that now also.
  • I like green tea, its mild and soothing to me.

  • I've been using map my walk. The only problem I've had with it is that I inadvertently hit the pause workout and then by the time I realize it I've lost a lot of my info and completed my walk. Thats disappointing to me.
  • I found just going cold turkey worked. I quite 30 years ago. I did have a few slip ups and when I did the cigarette tasted really gross, if I had more than one or had one for a few days I started to like it again. So eventually I bought a pack smoked one and threw them away. Food tastes a whole lot better after a while,…
  • Its not a simple explanation.. You may find some useful info in this blog https://www.metaboliceffect.com/female-hormones-estrogen/
  • I would always drink about 3-4 cans of diet coke daily..I quite drinking regular coke years ago probably on one of my diets. When I decided to lose weight this time I thought I would drink a coke when the mood struck but I've made myself drink water, which I never enjoyed before. I drink the 64 oz of water , as water daily…
  • I can agree with this.
  • Nope don't use a personal trainer, I can bearly walk at this time do to bone disease, hopefully some future surgery will help me.
  • I too agree , the question was anyone on nutrisystem...if your not thats fine go to a different thread and post there. I too like nutrisystem. I even like the food. The frozen is far better than the packaged but most is quite good. I've lost 64 pounds now since Sept. 2016 so its working for me. When I first joined mfp…
  • I only count water as water. I really don't drink much else though anymore with the exception of my morning coffee.
  • I do nutrisystem, I get it delivered to my home monthly now every other month. I've done very well on it, its good, while it seems expensive, its not all that bad. You do have to make meals yourself two days a week, or not your choice. I've lost 64 lbs since Sept 2016. I did learn portion control from doing these meals. I…
  • jelleigh.. Those are some good suggestions. I had my doctor send me for some PT in the beginning which I followed up with at home, they certainly helped. My neighbor went to one of the local community assisted living centers who has a pool and asked if she could get a membership to their pool (not a resident there). They…
  • Looking_Feel.DO what works for you. I was obese now I am not. I have lost a bit over 60 lbs with art 15 more to go. I am 65. I was sedentary now I walk most days. I have a knee that is bone on bone and will require a total replacement. I started in Sept 2016. I track all my foods and have lost steadily. My doctors are very…
  • Congratulations! Birgit..and so many others. MFP along with fitbit has ben a great motivator for me too. I started back in Sept. on Nutrisystem, I have days when I eat whatever but I can now manage to stay within my calories. I stated with a weight of 223 and as of this morning 160. I have 10 lbs to go to reach my original…
  • Me too, didn't it feel great when your bmi no longer said obese. I recently moved into a "normal" range. Can't believe it!
  • I too have the fitbit Aria scale for about 3 years. Agree probably over priced as the only info I take from it is my weight but I like that it syncs to mfp.
  • Thanks for this topic, I enjoyed reading it as I am facing similar circumstances. I'm 5'6 my heaviest weight was 224 and as of today I am 165. I goal weight is 150, thought about 140 but I have to reach the 150 first, lol. Weight loss has slowed down but I'm not so active. I have a bad back and bad knees, infant in two…
  • I'm a daily weigher...my weight fluctuates up and down 1.5-2 lbs at least once a week. It is dependent a lot on what I ate. If I eat more sodium I hold on to the water weight more. Also on young women time of month adds to your weight too. Thank goodness I'm past all that, lol but I'm sure others will add advise here.
  • Most all packaged /processed foods are full of sodium. NS is abt 25% and the frozen abt 20% on their dinners. They work for me and my BP has actually come down, guess I was eating a lot of sodium anyway and the extra weight was affecting me more. The average cost per meal is $3.68 including snack. I'm down almost 60 lbs…
  • I guess one could start a group? not me though as I not savvy enough lol but I'd join
  • Not sure they do but I;; send you a friend request. I've been on nutrisystem since Sept.
