  • Welcome back. Don't be discouraged, there's a lot of support here. We've all tried and failed but thankfully tomorrow is another day and we can try again. Feel free to add me in your friends, I can use all the support and motivation I can find and I'm happy to do the same in return.
  • This is the most food motivated group of people I've ever met. Unfortunately, the majority of them are overweight and very unhealthy. Considering our company pays for our gym membership if we want one, there is no excuse.
  • I use pure coconut oil and it does take several shampoos to get it completely out. When I need to deep condition, I leave it in overnight but I don't do it on workdays since it requires more shampooing time the next day. The tub definitely gets very slippery so I put little grippies down so I don't kill myself. I also use…
  • Yes a single chip w/salsa. I wanted to try his homemade salsa and after I did, I didn't think about it again. If I hadn't, I'd have wondered all day how good it was and felt deprived.
  • Welcome :) Feel free to add me in your friends. Support & motivation are key.
  • I'm tempted but not really if that makes any sense. I'm starting to evaluate my unhealthy food choices by how long I'll need to workout to negate the indulgence. That helps me minimize my consumption if not avoid it completely. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. It definitely helps :)
  • I applaud your willpower. If you politely decline and they are offended, that's their problem not yours.
  • Chocolate is my weakness as well. I tried total deprivation and that absolutely drove me nuts, I craved it all the time. Now I buy a bag of kisses and put them in the freezer. Every morning I take out 3 and that's my daily allowance. It keeps me from binging because I can't eat them frozen, they hurt my teeth. When I'm at…
  • $35/mo for a crowded, filthy gym with a pool, open 24/7, sauna & classes but 50% of the equipment doesn't work. Membership ends in March 2015. New gym is $49 per month, open 4a-11p, clean, no pool, nice/new equipment, uncrowded, classes included. My employer pays for the membership and I get an extended lunch hour if I…
  • Hello Everyone  I'm Rose, 51 years old and trying to stay on track with my health & fitness during menopause. In the past two years, I've put on 30 lbs and one way or another, I'm getting this weight off and getting healthy again. I walk and exercise daily. That doesn't appear to be enough so I need to totally…
  • I log in daily and accountibility buddies are always welcome. Feel free to add me as well.
  • I too have a chocolate problem and am constantly looking for ways to make it hard to over indulge. I buy a bag of kisses on the 1st and 15th of the month. They immediately go into the freezer. Every morning I take out 3 kisses, that is my daily allotment. I can eat them at any time during the day, but I only get 3 per day.…
  • You could do tuna with avocado. The avocado takes the place of mayo and adds flavor as well. I use it with both tuna and chicken, add spices and dig in. Eat it with celery, tomatos or cucumber slices to satisfy the need to chew on something.
  • I don't recall the model but Costco has the VitaMix in their stores now for $499. I also checked Amazon and it's less ($459) if you're a Prime member. You should also check QVC and take advantage of their payment plan if budget is an issue.
  • 40-30-30 works well for me too. I eat lean meats and use protein powder in my smoothies; carbs are fruits and veggies (no grains or bread); fats are mostly nuts and olive oil. My biggest problem is eating 5 times a day, I'm just not hungry.
  • Thanks Wheelhouse15 & Jacksonpt. I want a "big picture" monitor, I think that's the most logical way to approach my weight loss and activity needs.
  • Thanks Rhina23, I sent you a request
  • Thank you Leslie. My doctor has also mentioned the not eating problem and I'm working on correcting that. I would love to chat with you more and have sent a friend request. :) Rose
  • Kudos to you for quitting smoking, that's a tough habit to break. I'm looking for friends to motivate and who will motivate me. I need to be held accountable or I just keep sabotaging myself. I've set a 30 lb goal for myself in 6 months time. Starting today!
  • I like it alot. I used it last year and although never saw a decrease in weight, it helped tone my arms and abs. I stopped over the summer and moved my workouts outdoors. With the weather turning colder and the time change, I won't be able to walk as much so I'll be doing this workout again.
