I am supposed to go to the gym today after work, go home to shower and change, then head to my brother in law's show at a bar....but a coworker called in sick so now I have to choose - weight training or show? I would normally just go to the gym, shower there, then rush downtown, but I don't have a change of clothes or a…

I picked the original goal based on the high end of "normal" BMI. Now, as I am about halfway to that goal, I'm looking at my (estimated) body fat% and basing it off that. Goal stayed pretty much the same (155-160 lbs at 5'6.5), but I'm feeling much more confident in my decision!

Think about eating *insert food you don't like* when you feel hungry. Would you eat it? Really? Then you are probably actually hungry and should eat something. Would you not eat it? Probably want to eat for a different reason, and should figure out something else to do instead.

Hi there! Welcome to the club! You should check out a couple of different programs and see which one appeals for you. Stronglifts 5x5 is handy since it is free (Is online and also has an app!), but Strong Curves, New Rules of Lifting for Women, and Starting Strength are all great beginners' programs.

Be careful to get a none whey based protein powder if you have a dairy sensitivity!
-
I eat back the exercise calories until I am satisfied. Sometimes that's 1/3, sometimes that's 1/2, sometimes that's all of them.
-
You can also do some gentle cardio (easy yoga, an easy jog/walk, etc) to help recuperate.

overnight oats w/ protein powder (proats) , chia seed pudding (w/ protein powder for extra goodness), and all the different kinds of egg preparations (I like to make frittattas and cut it up into portions for the week)

If you need to lose faster you need to adjust the CICO ratio. You can do they by eating less or by burning more. Just make sure you meet your nutrient needs and don't push yourself to injury.

Allergies/Non Contagious = business as usual Sick = eat at maintenance and rest

I saw a significant difference at 10 lbs/~1.5 months. It took 3 pant sizes/20 lbs/3.5 months for everyone else to make a fuss about it.
-
I eat back all my burned calories, just not necessarily the same day. I eat ~1600 on rest days, ~1800-1900 on workout days, and ~2100-2200 on social events. I burn around 400-600 calories from weight training and cardio 3-5x/week. I am about 5'7" and 185 lbs. I lose on average around 1.3 lbs per week.
-
congrats! That is awesome!
-
Thank you! It just goes to show you how strength training can really change how your body looks. The last time I wore this pant size I weighed about 50 lbs less.
-
I was getting a little discouraged that I've really only lost about a lb in the last month for a total of about 5-8 lbs lost over the last two months....but yesterday my pants literally would not stay up and I had to go buy a new pair. I have lost two pants sizes (from a 14 to a 10) in the last two months. Win!

Feel free to add me - I'm all about the weight training

5'6.5" SW: ~210 CW: ~190 GW: 160 (might change when I get there) My daily goal is ~1550 calories, and I eat back exercise calories. Ends up being ~ 1800 calories/day average

how tall are you, what gender are you, and how old are you?

The pants I bought to replace the ones that were falling off me? I can now fit both hands under the waist band while wearing it and the clasp keeps coming undone because it is too loose and folds over itself when belted, unfastening it.

Currently coming off an injury, but my happy place routine is 3 days heavy lifting (lifting days come with a 20 minute cardio warmup) and 1-2 long gentle run days each week. It makes me feel like a beast and like I can conquer the world.

I don't take any supplements besides vit d. I generally don't log it. I wouldn't be too concerned about your Vit A intake. As long as you are consuming less than ~10x the recommended daily value of vit A , you will probably be fine. If you are really concerned about it, keep an eye out for repeated nausea, dizziness, and…

I put on my belt without paying attention and just noticed when I was taking it off that I was two notches tighter than the last time I wore this belt
