I checked my scale by putting some of my dumbbells on it. If you put a 10 pound dumbbell on the scale and it says something close to 10 pounds it is probably fairly accurate.

I'm in my seventh year of teaching. Spanish! If you have any Spanish skills at all in practically any state at all it can help you get a job. In fact while you are in college see if you can complete all of the classes to get an ESL endorsement when you get your teaching certification. In most school districts that can get…

I had a new one today. I had to move the car seat closer. The pedals were just a little too far away with less rear end to push me up in the seat.

I love Planet Fitness. The arc trainer machines alone make it worth my monthly membership.

I love Combat cookies n cream! Tastes amazing. (I've tried a bunch and this is my favorite.)

Alcohol is a food binge trigger for me. Two drinks almost always leads to French fries or nachos.

You can be fat and happy. I don't buy the whole fat and healthy thing though.

I really like to put protein powder into the chobani 100s or the yoplait 100s. They all have between 10-13 grams of protein on their own. The protein powder I mix in has 27 in a whole scoop but I only use a 1/2 scoop. (I use cytosport 100% whey vanilla.) One little cup of yogurt has about 26 grams of protein for about 170…

I switched to weighing weekly because of the issues you are talking about. It would ruin my whole day and stress me out no matter what I said to myself. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with weighing weekly or on some other sort of schedule. You miss out on the data that you would get daily but that is not really a big…

I have worked really hard to incorporate fitness everywhere into my life. * I go to the gym four or five times a week. * I also have a fitbit flex so I am always trying to get more steps in. (I have an aerobic step in my frontroom to get steps in. I always park far away at the store or at work. I organized my classroom so…

If you can drink yerba mate I would not think that black coffee would be a problem. LOL. Mate is sooooooo bitter.

Born in Salt Lake. Live in New Orleans now. It is about 1750 miles.

I did WW a few years ago and had success. When I signed up for MFP I actually did both at the same time for awhile. However, I don't feel like WW really taught me to eat healthy. I basically ate low point foods in large quantities. It did produce a calorie deficit so I did lose weight but it was not the healthiest or best…

It took family only about 10 pounds to notice. Friends about 20. I've now lost 50 and my boss commented this week.

I have completely replaced rice with quinoa. Specifically, I like to add 1/2 cup to things like chili. I also like to keep some cooked in the fridge to throw on top of a salad, or grab in pinch with some meat.

My aerobic step is sitting in my front room. I try to register 1000 steps on my Fitbit before I leave for work each morning. (It only takes like 5 minutes.)

I blend milled flax seed into my protein shakes every morning.

Incline does make a big difference. How much of a difference I am not sure.

Please read up on Medifast. Know what you are getting into. (I'm only bringing it up because things turned out badly for a few of my family members. Several of my family members did it and it was extremely unhealthy for them, they had no energy at all, and ultimately gained all of their weight back. )

I had major problems for about three months when first starting to lose weight. I do this - giant glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach. Chase it with my morning coffee. No problems since.

Free-weights and dumbells not machines. Buy good shoes.

I have been hooked on this coffee concentrate lately - Coolbrew. I mix it with a lot of ice and 1/2 cup of almond milk. (35 kcal a cup) If I go out to get coffee I always get cafe au lait. (Half steamed skim milk + half coffee)

Has the weight training also included some weight loss? (Mine have always been different sizes but I have noticed that the size difference seems to be more obvious the more weight lost. Maybe this is what is going on?)
-
I have lost nearly 50 pounds and have not stopped snacking. I still regularly eat chocolate and chips. If you are staying within your calorie limit you are fine!

That is an awesome one. (The way my arms hung was actually one of my motivators to lose some weight...)

I love this. I wish that the fat-positive movement really was more like what you are talking about - more about being body-positive.

Ugh. The parking lot is way too small... Inside the actual gym I stare down the pull-up machine daily. I tend to be there too late to get a trainer to show me how to do it. I have yet to ask some other gym-goer to show me how to do it.

Six days a week. Weights on three or four days with like 20 minutes on the treadmill or arc trainer to warm up first. On non-weight days I do longer cardio like running in the park, long bike ride, or inclined treadmill. (I just order Power 90. It is arriving next week.)

This has been surprising for me too.
