First of all, you are not a failure just because you are having some struggles with changing life habits. That's not an easy thing to do! Be kind to yourself. Even if the gym is closed and it interferes with your work out habits, try and remember that it is only for a short time and before you know it, it will be open…

Most people aren't in ketosis and eat plenty of carbs and sugars along with those high fats. It's not a good mix nor are all fats created equal. Are you saying that there are no foods if eaten in a larger volume which are not good for you? Because if that is where this heading, we will simply never agree. Sure, I can even…
-
Exactly, and that is bad for us as uniformed consumers of products that we are putting into our bodies.

Well, if one eats high amounts of fat often and doesn't realize the high fat content they are consuming, yes it can be downright unhealthy for them. They decide the quality and quantity of ingredients is what it means. No, I am saying 'delicious' is not relevant to healthy or unhealthy food in the context in which I was…

Delicious does not equate with healthy food. Really, it doesn't. I didn't say anything about high calorie fare. I said that some place bump up the taste of their food by adding as much extra fat and sugar as they can get away with because that combo is a cheaper way of making some food tastier. So, just because restaurant…

While no one is forcing people to eat at a restaurant, the establishments do decide how unhealthy they choose to make their fare and do not need to make that information available to the public. Restaurants can go overboard in substituting a heavy amount of sugars and fats to make up for a lack of quality ingredients or…

Well, I figure now that I am considered old enough for a mid life crisis that I am no spring chicken anymore. No big deal. I was young once. It was overrated.
-
No, I am not. I'm also short and old. I wish I was 22!

I'd hardly say that my life is a constant worry or not enjoyable. There is much more to life than food. The restaurant thing just kind of really sucks for those without many calories to work with. It is a much less enjoyable experience for me than it was before I changed my eating habits around around but that's life.

I have no idea how light the light salad dressing is that various establishments use but I use them anyway because I'm not a huge fan of salad and the dressing is what makes it palatable for me.

I *do* worry about it aplenty, which is how I managed to lose over 90 pounds since March.
-
Tis the season for skinny peppermint mocha. Oh, how I will miss it once the holiday season ends...
-
I've been dieting since March. It just started slowing down after these past five pounds or so. I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. Trying to tighten my logging up and keep super vigilant but that's hard when stuff like eating out throws you off.
-
Yup, it's scary. I wish that there were more low-cal restaurants around, seriously. It's so nice to look at a menu and see so many entrees at 300 calories. It's like Christmas.

If you are going by MFP, I tend to avoid using their calculations. I don't use lightly active calculations because it's the same as prelogging a certain amount of activity which is how it arrives at those calculations. I think it makes more sense for me to just set sedentary and then plug in the exercise so I get a more…

1000+ is basically my whole day.
-
64 inches, 38 years, and 137.4 and it's not just MFP that gave me 1200. No, I do not eat back exercise calories. If I was doing majorly intensive exercise, then I would eat back some but for the walks I do, not worth it.
-
At my height and age to lose less than a pound a week: 1200.
-
Yup, those lattes can be calorie monsters, too. There are a million cute bistros downtown but I stick with Starbucks because I know their skinny latte is only 100 calories and won't mess up my whole day. Feeling so limited really sucks.
-
Why? If I could manage to figure out the calorie content of my own recipes by adding up the ingredients and such why couldn't a local restaurant?
-
I'm not saying that it would. It could, however, stall my progress and I have been busting my butt to lose these last few pounds.
-
Unfortunately everyone insisted on going to a local steakhouse no one had been to before for lunch. I got the smallest steak they offered because they said that they couldn't do the chicken without the sauce (I guess it must be premade and frozen that way?). I only took one bite of the garlic bread that they threw an…

Which is part of the issue I have with it. I don't like the idea of prelogged foods. I don't always want to eat healthy nor do I. I don't want to pre-log things and use up calories on things I'm not actually eating. At my height and age I don't have a ton of calories to play around with. To each their own, of course.

From what I understand, and I am no psychologist so take this for what's it's worth, retraining toxic thought patterns requires faking it until you make it or in other words, flooding yourself with positive body messages even if you don't mean it until it starts to sink in.

I love Luna bars, especially the carrot cake one. Yum!
-
It was at first but as my weight has gone down, so has the ease of the pounds being shed. These last few pounds are going to be a pain, I think. Oh well, I'm up for the challenge.

I think people should decide for themselves which foods they consider off limits, if any. Some people think certain foods are the anti-Christ, others find ways to incorporate it into their diet and remain satisfied and healthy regardless. My hubby lost over 60lbs doing a high-fat, low-carb diet and I've lost 91lbs on a…

I was thinking of starting weight watchers when I first became serious about dieting but the whole 0 point foods gimmick made me realize that it was not the way for me to go.
