I went through the same and did not weight myself. Reason is it makes me depressed, which makes me eat emotionally. I would do MFP for a month - then weight yourself once you have your confidence back. Works for me but just my opinion.

My biggest pet peeve is supplements/ "healthy" shakes that really are processed powder. I hate getting this propaganda...especially from moms who are teaching their kids this is normal food.

I believe in small, manageable and attainable goals. I think "cheating" or allowing yourself some slack once in a while is normal, realistic and perfectly okay....if you know you can have indulgences from time to time, you are less likely to feel deprived and fall off the wagon.
