23 yo 5'1.5" 125.4 lbs 2400 calories/day for maintenance

1. Do you weigh your food? 2. Do you eat back your exercise calories? 3. What's your calorie intake? 4. Is your diet high in sodium?

As an experiment, I set my MFP calories to my BMR and lifetyle to "Sedentary". According to MFP, I need 1620 to maintain my weigh on a sedentary lifestyle. If my FitBit calorie burns were correct, netting 1300 cals/day would mean I'd lose 0.64 pounds per week. I started at 128.3 pounds a month ago, and weighed in at 125.2…

I'm 5'1.5", been in maintenance/recomp mode for 2 months. I find that I'll lose between 0.5 - 1 pound a week on 2000 calories per day.

Same here, keep having to disconnect and reconnect the FitBit app. Glad I'm not the only one.
-
@corriehaines MFP tends to over-estimate burns, so it's recommended to eat 50-75% back. I see that you're using a FitBit, estimates vary but are generally correct from personal experience. Set MFP to sedentary, only log food in MFP, and let the FitBit take care of calories you "earn" from exercise. Start out by eating 80%…

Take it from someone who tried this, DON'T. 1200 calories per day is the recommended amount for sedentary people under 5'3" who are trying to lose weight . If you're exercising on top of that, please eat back at least half of your exercise calories. You will lose lean muscles along with fat if you're eating too little. The…

I'd be happy to be a mentor. Below are my stats. Age: 23 Gender: F Height: 5'2" Starting Weight: 179 Current Weight: 128 Body Fat %: 22.1% Goal: Lower BF% to 18-19 I've been chubby through out my life and ballooned during college when I used food as a way to deal with the demands of my engineering program. After a year in…

Oh man, the crowd is why I avoid Costco on the weekends. I basically live across the street from one so I take my sweet time in there during weekdays. Once got 3 samples of Lindt truffles because no one else was around.

Don't forget the free samples and that amazing chicken bake ;)

5'1.5" SW ~180 GW 130 CW ~126, +/- 3 pounds Wanted to shoot for 115 for a while, but my obsession with that number gave me an anxiety attack every time my weight fluctuated upward. Figured out that I have a larger frame since I have visible ribs, a "gap", and 6" wrists at my height. Came to terms with being at the higher…

@fr3smyl You're a peach for all your positivity in this thread :)

I'd recommend getting a caliper from Amazon (got mine for ~6 bucks including shipping) then using the 7-measurement system. http://www.linear-software.com/online.html

5'1.5", 128 lbs, 23 years old, 22% BF. I have a sedentary job but run 21-28 miles per week. Currently maintaining on ~2000 calories per day.
-
@littlmissapril Thanks! Running helped tons, believe it or not. Cardio and lean protein trimmed me down overall. They are still hard as rocks though :)
-
Girl you've got this! I started around 180 at 5'1.5", currently maintaining and fluctuating between 126 and 132. Don't worry about labels too much as long as you're on the right track to being healthy :)
-
Everyone looks great, wonderful job ladies! I'm 5'1.5", SW ~180, CW ~129, no longer have a goal weight. I'm focusing on dropping body fat % at the moment. Used the 7 point caliper method, measured in at 22.1% body fat. Stomach progress: Looking to get down to 18-19% BF and have visible abs :)
-
5'1.5" here. Currently fluctuating between 126 - 132 pounds, goal is to reduce body fat. I guess I have a larger frame since my ribs and gap show despite my higher weight. BF% measured at 22.1%, looking to get to 18-19%.
-
Visible abs - so close! <20% body fat - currently at 22.1% (caliper 7-point measurements).

Have you guys heard of the paper towel effect? Essentially, weight loss is analogous to a roll of paper towels. Taking off one sheet in the beginning doesn't look much different, but it gets more and more obvious as you get down to the cardboard core. I imagine it's the same with dress sizes, where it'll take 15-20 pounds…

1. 1200 while losing, 1500 maintaining (sedentary work). 2. 25% back while losing, 50-75% maintaining. 3. 48 pounds in 24 weeks. Restricted too much to average 2 lb/week weight loss during those last 6 weeks, strongly do not recommend.
-
Thanks everyone for your input and taking the time to read/reply, going to try +100 a week to figure out my actual maintenance. Odd thing is, I barely fluctuated while losing and only weighed every 2 weeks, so seeing the scale move around day by day was somewhat scary. Again, thanks!
-
Quick update, just whooshed this morning. You guys were right, water weight and etc. Going to take a sanity break from the scale for a week or two..
-
I didn't, kept below 1200 throughout my journey and "celebrated" by eating 1800 calories in pure junk. Weight jumped up the next day, decided dropped down to 1350 from there.
-
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Diary now open. For the foods I couldn't find, I noted the weight in my food notes and tried to find something close in the database. I have a tendency to stress out over anything more than a 1/2 pound fluctuation, so I immediate cut my intake whenever I see an increase.
-
Yep, use a food scale and record everything in grams/oz. I tend to stay around 800 - 1000 cals Mondays - Thursdays, then 1600 - 1800 Fridays - Sundays. My diet is pretty high in sodium and carbs. I also only do cardio. Could be genetic too, my dad's 5'7", 167 lbs, runs 6 miles a day, and maintains at 2200.

6 weeks. Every time I've tried to raise it my scale went up, so I freak out and drop back down again. I run 5k every other day, and I eat about 1500 on those days. Stats: 23, female, 5'2", 128 lbs.
