Hello! I'm 5'1.5". Started at ~175 pounds in August 2014, hit 125 in January 2015 and have been maintaining since then. I'd love to offer whatever support I can, my diary is open to friends.

BMI is a good baseline for the general population but it's not the best way to determine individual health. Your waist measurement should be less than half your height. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18359190 A large abdomen usually means higher than average visceral fat, probably the worst type of fat.…

Hey there! I'm Cindy, 24, doing body recomp. Definitely interested.

I'm 5'1.5" but let's round that up to 5'2" :) I started at ~180 pounds in August 2014 and hit my initial goal weight of 130 in January 2015. I've been focusing on fitness and BF since then and fluctuate between 119 - 126 pounds. These were taken in late January, I think I've gotten slightly less jiggly since then.

Hey there! I'm more of a nerd than a geek in the sense that I'm not a gamer but do like to tinker with micro-controllers. I've been on MFP for over a year and am in the second phase of my journey, which is body recomp. Trying to reveal my abs in time for Youmacon this year :) Feel free to add me, my diary is open to…

Hey there! Height: 5'1.5" Weight: 125 pounds Bust: 37" Waist: 27" Hips: 36" Thigh: ~21"?

I'm 5'1.5". Let's round that up to 5'2" and say I'm close enough  Started at about 180 pounds, now around 125 (+/- 3). Maintaining for the moment while I focus on training for a half marathon.

@Kimegatron Have you tried Clubhouse BFD? Delicious & laid back place with a veggie burger option. That and Motor City Burger Co. in Pontiac is delicious and cheap, but the down side is that you have to venture to Pontiac.

5'2" runner here, just past my 365 day streak. Diary open to friends, feel free to add me :)

My diary is open to friends, feel free to add me! I'm 5'2" and about 125 pounds at the moment. I started at ~175 pounds and netted 1200 calories per day during the process of losing weight. Currently, I maintain on 2100-2500 per day with 22% BF. Diet consists of 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein. My job is completely…

This! Ultimately, it's your body and you should do what makes you happy. If that includes a reduction, go for it if it's what you really want. But I highly recommend on splurging on good quality bras. Verify your measurements with this: http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/beginners_guide, then go from there. I'm not…

I didn't during the process since I didn't know what size I'd be after hitting my goal weight. Started out at US 12/14, thought I'd be ecstatic if I could squeeze in a 6. Somehow ended up in a 2/4, now I'm kicking myself for not buying that $10 size 4P Cole Haan leather jacket from Goodwill :(

In addition to what others are saying here you might want to try even numbered clothing sizes. Odd numbered labels are usually Junior's, which means they are cut for teens with less pronounced waist/hip ratios. I need a 7 in Junior's, but a Women's 2/4. Same waist but different hip measurements.

Eh, men in general are taller/bigger/have lower BF% than women, it makes sense that their BMR are higher. It's not necessarily easier but the potential for a bigger deficit. An active, 5'10", 170 pound, 25 year old man has a TDEE of 2600, so if he ate the 1500 cal/day minimum recommended for men he's lose more than two…

If it's a leaner look you're after, I second recomp. If it's a certain clothing size you're after, I recommend switching to women's (even numbers) instead of junior's (odd numbers). Junior's have much less defined bust/waist/hip ratios. If it's an arbitrary number you're looking for on the scale, please step back and…

Congrats OP on the amazing job! Seconded. Note to those who measure progress by clothing size, don't be discouraged if you don't fit into the same sizes as you did in high school. Women's and Junior's clothing are cut differently; for example, at 37-26.5-35 I need a 7 in Junior's but am a 2 - 4 in (US)Women's.

And <$50 too?! THANK YOU

Like everyone else said, genetics play a huge role. If you have a lot of actual breast tissue to begin with, they won't shrink much; if your breasts are "inflated" by adipose tissue, they will go down with your weight. I started at ~175 pounds, 38C. Currently 125, 32DD. Proportional sports bras are harder to find now.

5'2" HW: ~175 CW: 125 GW: ??? Honestly, I'm no longer scrutinizing the scale and am focusing on BF% (currently 22.1) and half marathon training. I run 25 - 35 miles per week and maintain on 2200 - 2500 calories daily.

Hahaha yesss! I even keep a charger in the car to make use of the time I'm stuck in traffic.

Dear, you are already beautiful. You were strong enough to accomplish so much with your body, mind, and life. What your husband (hopefully soon to be ex) did is only a reflection of how ugly he is as a person. You are lovable, you are worthy, and you are not defined by the actions of a coward.

Thank you! So many people need to hear this. Right after I reached my goal weight, I went through a shorties' thread about goal weights and started freaking out about how long it'll take for me to get to 100 pounds. But then I realized that I no longer have to do that "hide your gut with a throw pillow" trick while sitting…

Gurl preach! A year ago I was obese. I hated how I looked in pictures, I hated how I looked in the mirror. Yet everyday during lunch I'd run out for pizza or fast food and eat way too much. I'd finish a bag of chocolates before bed every night. It made me feel terrible yet I didn't stop. My food habits felt uncontrollable.…

Yes, what you're looking for is body recomposition. It'll take much longer than just losing weight, but the results will be worth it. You'll need to eat at maintenance and lift weights. Not necessarily turning fat into muscle, but burning it off while building lean mass. I recommend reading any of Lyle McDonald's articles.

25-32% is perfect acceptable for the average woman. Web calculators are far from accurate, I'd recommend a DEXA scan if you have the funds and are really itching to know.

Hi there, congrats for making a commitment to yourself and setting high goals :) That being said, please, please do this safely. Given your current stats, your TDEE is about 2000 (assuming sedentary lifestyle). To achieve your desired weight loss within that timeframe, you'll need to subtract 1150 calories from that,…

Like Anna said, it'll vary. For reference, I'm almost 5'2", ~125, 23 years old, 2400 maintenance. I aim for 20,000 steps/day. Sedentary job, productive workouts.

I follow /r/1200isplenty for snack ideas, and once in a while threads that reeks of ED pop up. I once got downvoted for suggesting working out more to create a deficit instead of cutting more calories, telling me that not everyone has the time or means to exercise. Well excuse me for making a healthier suggestion.

I find it funny how almost every time BMI is brought up, so many people use the "athletes are obese" argument to discredit the scale. For reference, Arnold was 260 @ 6'2" at his heaviest, BMI 33.4. And he looked like this: http://www.bodybuilding.com/bodybuilders/arnold.htm Dwayne Johnson is 260 @ 6'5", BMI 30.8. And he…
