Hi everyone. I'm 59. I've lost 55 with the help of a dietitian. It's taken me over 2 years to do it. I keep stumbling and gaining some back, then losing again. My dietitian suggested that I try an online support group since I can't get out due to mobility issues. That's another thing that keeps me for losing as quickly as…

Thank you, but this is the last day in August.

Hi there, ladies. HELP! I've been gone for a good while. I haven't been here on the site in over a month and it that time I've gained 12 lbs! I feel so awful. I do care....a lot, but during my eating it's like I don't want to get started on the hard work of good health again. I know. It makes no sense because it will be a…

Hey, folks. So sorry I'm late. I had inner ear surgery on Monday, July 11. during the surgery, the blood pressure cup was cutting into my arm. Now I have a wound on my arm that has to be dressed. Then, two days after surgery, I started to develop a rash all over my face and arms. But, there is no pain from the ear surgery.…

@L8model I think you did well for being on vacation. That's really just maintaining if it's less than a pound. Well, that's how I feel about it. lol
-
@normalicia11 That's good that you maintained. Looks like 14 lbs gone in 6 weeks!!! WTG

You're welcome. He travels all over for conferences. He might even know someone in your area if you contact him through his business.

Well, in case we are to report our weigh in today and so I don't forget, I'll post it. lol When I weigh in last week I was so frustrated because I had remained at 235 for three weeks. The next day I got on the scale and weighed 233! So then I weighed again at the end of the week and I was 235...AGAIN!!! I KNOW I'm eating…

@Elphabs, don't be afraid of a dietitian. If you have a good one they are not judgemental. I have the best in the world and so far the insurance has been paying for it for the last two years. He really works with me to develop eating plans I can work with for my lifestyle, my current weight, etc. He is also a fabulous…

I'm confused. I thought there was a final weigh in today since the first week was not reporting if we lost it was just to weigh in. So are we supposed to be putting our final weight here or was that already done on the Week 6 Weigh-in thread?
-
Exactly. I have lost some. Not as much as I would have liked. That would be nice to keep weighing in. But, I am also weighing in on another challenge that lasts all Summer. The weigh-ins are just a day apart, so I might drop this one. No hard feelings.

Understand completely, Mark. Life is never perfect in our weight loss journey. My dietitian said to never aim for perfection. Aim for an overall healthy lifestyle.
-
@wadrich, I know you said that you have to force yourself to get to 1200-1300 sometimes. Maybe to get to your 1750 you should add some good fats. Now I'm always hesitant to do that because all I think about is, "OMG! 1 tablespoon of that is 120 calories!" I only have 1350 according to my dietitian for my lifestyle and…

Thank you. I'm going to just have to start doing some things in my chair. I have mobility issues from arthritis. I do what I can but I can't do a lot of the housework anymore. My knees don't bend at all. I can't drive anymore and I can only get into a very few vehicles. Anyway, today I got on the scale and it showed 233.…

June 24, 2016 Week 1: 240 Week 2: 240 Week 3: 238.5 Week 4: 235 Week 5: 235 Week 6: 235 Ok, now I'm getting a bit frustrated. I mean I have had ice cream and pizza in front of me and not had any of it. There was two times when we went through the McDonald's drive-thru and I had salad with low fat vinaigrette. Still, this…

Well, it's taken me two years to lose 50 lbs. I've NEVER lost weight this slowly before. The last time I lost a substantial amount, though, was over 10 years ago and more mobile. So no for health reasons I'm not as active and I'm older. That sucks. lol My dietitian keeps telling me that it doesn't matter how long it takes.…

Markus, you really should be so proud of yourself. You are doing so amazing. How come guys lose more and faster? hehe 18 pounds in 5 weeks, right?

I hope you are all having a great Sunday and Happy Father's Day to all the Father's from the U.S. today. It looks like I stayed the same this week which is ok with me. Staying the same is not a gain! Week 1: 240 Week 2: 240 Week 3: 238.5 Week 4: 235 This weigh-in makes 50 lbs for me with about that much more to go. As I stated last week, I have been fluctuating between a few pounds for several months. It seems I always was coming back to 240. This is the lowest now for me in years so I hope I can keep this up with…

@skinnyjeanzbound Sounds like you things on track in your journey. I guess slow and steady wins the race. hehe

Good for you!!! That's wonderful! And those cookies turned out great!
-
I hear that. It's taken me 2 years to lose 50 lbs and I have at least that much more to lose. But I tell myself that 15 years ago I weighed 405 lbs at my top and now I'm 235. Plus lots of things have changed for me in the last 5 years or so that inhibit my weight loss. See I CAN'T walk or do the kinds of housework I used…

You can do this! Diet pop isn't the best for us either, but if you have to have pop, have that. As far as icing the cookies, that is tough. I'm not big on super-sweet things and would rather have the cookies plain, but even that is pretty bad. Just a thought for next time something like this comes up. Offer to make…
