Transcription mistake: The above mix is for 20 servings or 10 breakfasts. Each Cup of mix makes 2 servings. Sorry about that!

Everyone has their own running style. For me, if I'm using a shoe that's made for forefront striking, it helps me keep in the forefront with minimal effort for a few extra miles. It may be enough to get you to the finish still forefoot striking, but beware the dreaded calf cramp! :)
-
If you're wearing a neutral shoe, OP, you may want to consider plunking down some cashola and trying a forefoot striking shoe. I used to use Newtons (and swore by them for years)... until I started running with ON running shoes. I live in NYC so I have a Jackrabbit's right by me, but if you've never had your run analyzed,…

Here's my recipe. My children love it as well. YMMV. Makes 30 servings (10 breakfasts): - The mix will keep, sealed, for upwards of 3-4 months. It never lasts that long. 4 cups of Whole Wheat Flour 3 cups of All Purpose Flour 1 cup of your Protein Powder of Choice 1/2 cup of Sugar 3 tablespoons (and 1 teaspoon) of Baking…

Also, as for your original post - I am a forefoot striker... until I get exhausted. Then I heel strike. And my body doesn't like it. Do you wear a cadence shoe track?
-
After my first marathon, my body was none too happy. I assumed I would bounce back within a day or two... You don't. But you won't be holed up for too long. After around a week of being gentle, I was back to 75 percent, and 3 weeks later, back to 100 percent. These times have decreased with subsequent long runs.

Anyone doing any Spartans / Mudders? I used to do them regularly, and miss them quite a bit sometimes. I could me persuaded to do a Super this year.

I’m not even complaining about newbies. At all. As I said in the OP, I’m glad they’re there. It’s hard for me, as a dad of two, to carve out other time. It’s not equipment. It’s parking. I can’t even get in! It’s rough right now. I’m hoping everyone stays, but the times equalize out.

I'm all for the healthy habits! I'm glad so many people are trying to right the course, @cyndit1 and I hope they continue. I'm sure that others will get tired of waiting too and will experiment with different times of the day to go. I'm just so locked into a specific time with my other responsibilities, it upsets me when I…

@lorrpb I just recently switched gyms. The other one, local NYC gym, was $55 a month. I got a great LA Fitness deal for $35 a month. Couldn't say no. Old gym also had tons of residential parking. New gym is in a strip mall.

I try to keep in the habit of logging EVERYTHING I put in my system, down to the melatonin at night.
-
@jesspen91 I live in New York City (albeit an outer borough) and I could take a bus / train, but that would be just as long and if the gym is already at max (There's MANY parking spots being taken), there's really no point. I never have to do laps looking for parking. People wait 25-30 minutes just to park their car right…

Question: How active are you throughout the rest of the day? I tend to find that the more active I am throughout the day, the less tired/fatigued I feel. I also sleep longer and better at night, according to my fitbit. Are you 100% at the gym and then sedentary for the rest?

Someone once told me if I can do 30, I can do a Metric. Is that true? I'm frankly worried about butt-exhaustion much more than leg exhaustion.
-
I was borderline with sugars and borderline hypertensive. Then, they were both superlative, without medication.
-
I'm considering a metric century this summer. Has anyone done either a metric or a full century? Most I've ever done in one sitting (heh... sitting! A dad joke about cycling!) is 30 miles.

My best fitness year ever involved me finishing a Spartan Trifecta (Sprint, Super and Beast), and each of the major race distances (5k / 10k, Half and Full) in 2015. I have never come close to that feat since then. I've decided to at least do the major race distances again this year. @lorrpb - Is your Tri in open water? I…

Here’s a jeopardy picture. Time to get that 40. It feels good to be back in the routine. If any of you are Fitbit people or food loggers, let me know!

It was very cool, and the camera wasn't too bad to me! It's quite surreal though.. let me grab a photo! :)
