The way I see it if the weight loss advice involves taking a pill, cutting out a food group or having to purchase a shake/powder/supplement then I tend to give it a body swerve.

Yeah there was one person who said she had an addiction to food (like cigarettes) but when others offered advice and tried to probe a bit deeper it wasn't as bad as that, then we discovered it might be a wheat intolerance...confusing!

The thing is no one on here actually "does a diet" everyone lives by CICO, whether it's from protein, carbs, fat, veggies, it's a simple matter of a controlling how many calories you eat. Wrap it up and call it anything you want but it's all the same principle. Sticking with it is the hard bit.

In the end it wasn't the OP fault she put on 5lbs but it was due to a food intolerance...go figure! ;) ;)

I agree with you 100% and this is exactly my approach...I went out for pizza on Sunday with my BF (even had a starter) and I still stayed within my calories for the week. Yesterday I had a rubbish day in work so ate 2 packets of crisps in a row but it was counted and logged then I adjusted my dinner slightly to make sure I…

Bluetooth earphones are a God send...when not in the gym I just put my phone in the pocket of my hoodie.

Thank you for all your replies peeps! Will definitely take a proper look at them all .

Yip got the diet in check!

Not at all! If anything I'm in your boat, I'm 5' 7.7" currently about 165lbs (11st 11lbs) just now, aiming get to 154lbs (11st) I've been this weight before and know it looks best for me, any slimmer and I look ill.

I have no input here at all other than your reply did make me chuckle :D

Too many to mention tbh...but mostly people who don't put gym equipment back when finished with it (weights namely) or in the wrong order; what comes after 6? No, it's not 9... :/ Girls who put on a full face of make up with highlighter included (I don't understand why) while leaving their long hair down (I know I'm going…

Thanks so much for this! I'm going out tonight and was worried about going over my limit but carrying out the above calculations I can relax a little and enjoy my noodles knowing the whole week has gone down the pan o:)

Always pre-log, other than a Saturday and occasional Friday night I can pretty much pre-log a week at a time (boring, who me??) ;)

I agree with your comment I've been 147lbs before and I didn't look well at all...I'm not a partially curvy or "big boned" person myself but aiming for such a low weight seems a bit far fetched. I enjoy my food and I would be pretty miserable having to try to stick to 1,200 cals a day.

I completely agree! It's the eternal 7lbs that I'm constantly trying to shift, once it goes I can begin to see the results from weight training and my clothes feel better, which in turn boosts my confidence. My boyfriend has 4 stone (56 lbs) to lose and it comes of pretty easy for him (so far).

Hi, starting again...always watched my cals half heartedly but want to see how much I can lose (comfortably of course) while eating a relatively "normal" amount of calories. I'm 5'8", weighing in at 165lbs and on 1,500 cals a day. Exercise is normally cardio and weights at the gym for 60 mins, 3-4 times a week. Ideally…
