well maybe a review of Atkins book. Fruit, battered breaded anything and beer are not a part of a carb restricted diet.

wow. Lots of misinformation out there. I think sugar is more dangerous than almost anything we eat. I think it is the cause of a lot of disease. We weren't designed for processed sugars. It is no wonder the American heath care system is broken and we are paying for everyone's ignorance .

Oh yes. the "P" word and the "even gain" concept is really enough to drive you mad. I need to exercise for my head. I lift some weights , walk and occasionally do the eliptical but without these, I am not at my emotional best. I am now becoming obsessed with the Keto distix and run them 3-4 times a day. Yes, they are…

there is no quick fix, no magic, no one way to lose weight other than being and remaining committed to improving not only your weight but your health. Becoming informed is crucial and not by exploiters. You sound like a walking advertisement someone, trying to force feed an agenda. You also sound like the pain in the butts…

I found my aches and joint pain completely diminished as one of happy responses to this diet.

no cheat day on this journey. Way too hard to keep coming back. Slow and steady for me. I expect it to be a life change and "cheating" is not a life change.

Just what I needed. I am astonished to read of folks who are dropping 10 lbs a week. Yes, I understand water loss but it is shocking. Me? I am a one or 2 ponder if that. So it goes. Patience is something I am working on. Feel better? You bet. Gone is brain fog, found is energy and sense of well being not to mention my…

I am <20 . Weight loss is slow. I am experimenting with adding more fat which is a bit scary, Trying to eat light at night with a big salad.

just made a small crustless cheesecake with sugar substitute, vanilla, a little cocoa, beat some egg whites to fluff it up and will use it in small portions ; cheesecake bombs.
-
egg salad made with real mayo . Wrap in lettuce leaves. Also chicken salad. Anything is better with mayo

You have inspired many to just keep believing it is the answer.

try steaming your cream for your coffee. So fabulous

great information I raised my fat and lowered my protein . It is much better. It's scary to increase fat. It goes against everything we grew up learning. But there it is.
-
whooo hoo. 10 is grand.
-
what happens when you cannot eat enough of the prescribed fat and protein in a day?
-
I make atkins cheese cake. No nuts or the crust but it is good if you want the carbs. Crustless cheese cake . Hits the sweet spot.

I have decided to not weigh for several weeks . During that time I am going back to tracking foods because it is very easy to get carb creep, increasing my fat to protein ratio, reading good posts here in the community of people who all struggle and most important feeling so much better physically; aches and joint pain…

I find keeping my carbs to 20 is the only answer for my body. I have gone back to tracking on my fitness; 1500 which are hard to eat some days. I am staying off the scale for several weeks until I think my body has adjusted to the changes. I feel good, I am not hungry, the aches in my joints have disappeared , my brain is…

as always, good information. So helpful when the process is slower than I would wish. It helps keep me on the straight and narrow toward a longer range goal.

I bought Ketostix today after not using for a very long time. Does the deeper the color indicate you are burning more fat than the lighter end of the range? I am back tracking my daily intake and have found a few , ahem, flaws in carb intake which I shall correct. To early for nuts, and even one ounce is 5 carbs. Terrible

great listening.

Yes. I dropped back down. My brother, a doctor, talks about set points. He says that I have had a certain set point for some time and it is hard to get below . Any thoughts?
-
ok folks. Can we talk about the scale for the umpteenth time? Why, why does it fluctuate when you are doing all the right things. I even stopped drinking to make this work. Stalled after about the first 5 lbs. Gym, calorie watch, and yet....

Ohh. I am on low carbs but these sound delis. I love soups. I use cream cheese to thinking my squash soups. Delish and easy. Will puree cauliflower on Thanksgivings to help with mash potato temptation. Going to put cream cheese in that as well. I do use the 1/3 reduced fat creamed cheese however.

I wish I didn't always feel like I wanted something with cars; salty, crunchy, sweet. I need to get some berries back into my life which will come, but not just yet.

Ladies and gents. I believe the story of weight loss also includes weight gain. I am back on Atkins; someone told me I could set fitness pal to track carbs/fat/protein to use this approach. It really is the only one that 1. works weight loss for ME, 2. makes me feel good; my aches and pains, my lethargy disappear and 3.…

I have struggled most of my life. Lots of issues but the bottom line is that the one diet that works, that actually changes how I feel, is Atkins; low carb diet. This time around, I had to get real about wine. Not easy but it gets away from you over time and I needed stop altogether, mostly to know that I could and also,…
