I've found that I consistantly bloat up 7-9 pounds when I travel, regardless of amount of exercise or food. However, it all comes off within two weeks of getting home and life returning to normal. Just enjoy yourself in moderation! :)

Talk with your doctor, he or she should be able to help.

SW: 227.8 GW: 204 March 30, 2015-July 8, 2015 Day 1: 227.8 Day 17: 226 Not too bad, considering I got back from a work trip only a week ago and bloated up nine pounds in the process. Goals: 204 would put me at overweight. I realize that 1.7 pounds per week is ambitious. However, the weather is getting better, which impacts…

The best thing I've found for improving confidence is exercise. Personally C25K and Tae Bo have been amazing. I've lost weight using both, but more importantly I can now do things with my body that I never thought possible- like run three miles straight or keep up with Billy Blanks for an entire workout. Can't get a much…

I'm 5'10" 1) How much do you weigh at the moment? 228 2) How much would you like to weigh? 175-200 3) How many times a week do you workout? Typically 5-6 times per week 4) Calories you are eating a day to maintain/lose/bulk? Eating around 1800 (including exercise calories) 5) What your fitness goals are? Run a 10K, keep…

Hi all, I'm Katherine. I've been at this since the middle of May last year and have lost over 56 pounds so far. I still have 14 - 50 pounds left to go. Per my doctor, 200-210 would be an ideal range for me. However, a 'healthy' BMI would put me at 174. I haven't been my current weight, 224, since the start of junior high…

I like it, but it's also frustrating that there is no real noticeable difference between a 30 pound weight range for me- top of overweight vs. Normal weight.

Any chance you're going through ovulation or Aunt Flo is about to visit? Most women bloat during those times and experience temporary weight gain.

2 pounds in a month is totally healthy, especially if you are within 15-20 pounds of goal weight. I tend to lose 5-6 pounds a month, but also have a total of at least 80 pounds to lose (25 currently left).

It took around 35 pounds for others to start noticing, and 50 for people to really comment. I'm tall though, so that plays into it as well.

Sometimes you just have to try different things to see what foods are the best bang for your calorie budget. I've found that all natural/organic frozen meals are often the tastiest and best bang for the calorie count, but anything that keeps you feeling full and within calories is great. Also, are you mixing up your…

On average, it takes me around 5-6 months to lose 30 pounds, but I started with 82-107 pounds to lose. If you only have 30 pounds to go, you should expect to lose around a pound per week for the first 10-15 weeks, and then half a pound for the rest. In other words, it would be reasonable to expect it to take around a year.

I have a B tummy; upper and lower tummy with a defined waist. For the first few months, I lost weight everywhere evenly except my upper tummy. Until it finally started catching up proportionately, I looked really huge because it stuck out so far and was accentuated in all of my normal clthes, especially the ones with an…

Tae Bo and Leslie S. Walking videos could be good options as well.

I think it's different for everyone. I like three meals and one afternoon snack per day. I've always had an afternoon snack, but have found that tweaking the timing and scope of the snack has been instrumental in preventing the large junk food snacks I used to have.

I think it also depends on the quality of the elliptical. You can definitely auto pilot on the cheap ones, but the better ones don't do that even on the easiest setings. The one I have is a harder workout than running outside, even on the mild resistance levels.

I'm in for 5 pounds!

I love Kashi, but not the lean ones- those taste gross to me.

I know what you mean.. I have to wear men's gloves and watches becaus Wow, 30 pounds in 3 months? That's impressive!

Lorri, so sorry I didn't post! I had just gotten back from vacation and it took a week for the vacation bloat to settle to get to a more true weight. I'm in it for another 100 days though!!!!

Whoo! We've got this, Lorri!!!

SW: 227.8 GW: 204 March 30, 2015-July 8, 2015 Day 1: 227.8 Goals: 204 would put me at overweight. I realize that 1.7 pounds per week is ambitious. However, the weather is getting better, which impacts my food choices and exercise. In all honesty, I'd be happy getting to 210- the top end of my 'ideal' weight as set by my…

Honestly I didn't think it was possible for me to lose weight before MFP. I had always been overweight/obese and didn't think it would ever change. Then I started wanting to have kids, and realized that I would have to do something if I wanted to have healthy pregnancies and not let my weight get totally out of control. My…

What's wrong with two servings of animal crackers? If it fits into your calories, no biggie! I used to eat practically half a bag of chips after getting home from work daily. The thing that resolved this junk food craving was choosing a healthy snack 1-3 hours earlier to keep my hunger from getting out of control.

I agree with BZAH10, that's your motivation! It's not just about this summer either; it's about all of your future summers. Personally, I won't reach my initial goal until likely the end of the summer, which will be over 80 pounds dropped in around 16 months. But that will only get me to the overweight category. If I want…

Thanks ladies! I'm just 50/50 sure on it. I've never been this late before, but I was on vacation last week, so there's a chance I could be late due to the flight, excess leisurely walking (8-12 hours daily), eating more... Usually vacation brings on AF for me though... In other words, I'm trying to be cautious in case,…

I'm around your weight. While it's tough to know without any other stats from you, I've been losing typically around 5 pounds per month.

TDEE and MFP are different approaches to determining calorie deficit. With TDEE, you're choosing a standard deficit to eat daily under the assumption that you are exercising x amount per week. With MFP, you go by the number determined by your current weight and desired deficit. You can eat back up to half of your exercise…

I know a number of people that absolutely love it. However, as others have mentioned, it is very expensive. It's also very cult like in nature and members go out of their way to recruit friends and are typically very judgemental of those who don't do CrossFit- especially overweight individuals.

After the monthly bloat, I tend to drop a few extra pounds. Typically it's 2-4 pound gain, 5-7 pound drop including bloat weight gain. I love tracking ny monthly bloat because it seems like the most accurate indicator of how much weight I've lost between months. As a side note, the closer I get to goal weight, the fewer…
