Congrats! I’m seeing similar results (down 14.1 lbs from 1/1/2020). This weight loss is possible but I’m starting at a much higher weight, 257.7). I took my total calories (1630) and eat 4 meals a day spaced 3 to 4 hours apart, targeting 400 calories per meal. I haven’t started exercising yet (just squats while I brush my…

Sad to say I’ve had my share of such moments. I got on a plane last year for the first time in a long time and had to ask for a belt extender. Then I tried to put the tray table down and it was too tight. Another time at a friend’s party, a bunch of us were standing around an outdoor fire when the host suggested I sit down…

A lot of great advice posted above. It’s stressful balancing work/home/children. There must be something about your work that you enjoy so much that you would choose to work than do other activities. Maybe find something that's related to what you do but that would be equally satisfying to do on your personal time. For example, if you're an expert in your field, maybe teach a class at a community…

Just a few ideas that might help. I struggle with binge eating every day, almost always in the mid to late afternoon. Mostly because I'm feeling sluggish and I fuel my body with anything I can get my hands on just to keep me going. It never works. If anything, I'm more exhausted after eating everything in sight than I was…

You're right. I talked with one of my sons after he started sqeezing my arm like he does just before he tells me how fat they are. He hugged me and said he was sorry he hurt my feelings. If it weren't for your post, that wouldn't have happened so thank you! You're an inspiration and give great advice too!

Congratulations on reaching your goals! I'm sure it makes picking toys up off the floor a lot easier! My sons are 6 (twins) and are now aware that mommy has 'fat arms' and a 'big belly'. I hear these words almost every day. I make light of it but deep down it hurts. Thankfully you'll never hear those words from your…

Be careful with flax seed. Introduce it slowly into your diet to give your body time to adjust to it. Otherwise, you may be facing a lot of intestinal discomfort.

I decided to add flax seed to my diet for the first time (2 Tbsp in cereal) and experienced severe gas pains a couple of days later lasting about 24 hours. Make sure you have medicine on hand to deal with severe cramping should you need it.
