It's definitely got that "One more turn" vibe. You turn around and its 2AM. What were your starting settings? [/quote] I was playing around with rich explorer, randy random on one of the beginner modes. I'll move up in difficulty once I'm more used to the game mechanics. I haven't played Dwarf fortress or anything like…

Haha, a lot of cut fruits don't last that long unless you squeeze some lemon or lime juice over it. I usually stick to berries, melon or citrus (or whole fruit if it will fit in the box). Can't wait to see the dinner one!

I feel you there. I buy kibble for my dogs in 20kg (45lb) bags, two a month. To carry the equivalent amount of weight I've lost, I'd have to pick up three of them at once, and there's no bloody way I'd be able to do it anymore (I should probably lift more weights at the gym to remedy that....)

Haha, I had no idea how bad it was going to be. Last night what felt like 40mins was 4 hours, with much of that time having me freak out that my only settler was going to die of malaria because her medical skill was 0. :s

Let's try and keep this to OP's question, which asks if it's safe to cut out sugar, rather than turning the thread into another "sugar is/isn't addictive" thread that will crash and burn. OP, as others have said, if you want to cut processed sugar (I'm assuming you mean processed sugar...) from your diet, yes it is…

I've been on clearing-out-the-freezer lunches recently (it's pretty much random what I get to eat), so I haven't been using my bento boxes since I've been back at work. Slow cooker ham and bean soup isn't exactly bento-able lol.

I've been playing a bit of Neverwinter (although I seriously can't see myself getting back into any MMO's), and just started playing Rimworld this weekend. I can see that game being dangerously addictive.

Also remember that not all foods in the MFP database will have the iron content listed in them (I don't put it in for my custom entries), so even if your food contains iron, it might not have been input for a food you're using. I'd take your iron intake from your logging with a grain of salt (or iron as the case may be…

https://www.justonecookbook.com/souffle-japanese-cheesecake/ is the Japanese cheesecake recipe I use, and it's about 300Cal a slice (assuming 12 slices from the cake). I serve it with whipped cream and a homemade strawberry sauce which ups the Cal count a bit though :D ETA: My surprise was how quickly Cals from coffee…

Up until some health issues that have caused me some major gut problems and severe constipation, for me a regular schedule was once every 3-4 days. Never felt bloated or icky. Easily had 25-35g of fibre in my diet, plenty of water, etc.; it was just my normal. Then again, I weighed 160kg / 350lbs at the time, so a bit of…

Trying to make your body more alkaline with ACV is total BS. Acids, by their very definition, cannot make your body alkaline, not to mention that the pH of your gut from the food you eat has no effect on the pH of the rest of your body. Otherwise you'd be able to alkalise your body by taking prescription heartburn / reflux…

When I was training for my first HM, I found most of the gels horrible no matter what flavour they were (there was one coffee molasses flavoured thing I loved though), but could handle the clif blocks. If you're a big sweater when you run or it's a particularly hot area where you're living, I suggest making sure you take…

Generally if there is an outbreak in some sort of vegetable, it will have been from a specific farm or processing plant (in the case of washed and bagged vegetables) or distribution centre. Check with your appropriate govt website (I'm Aussie and can't remember what yours would be), and it will give specifics about where…

Yes, the calorie count of 100g of tangerines is without the peel. No use calorie counting the parts you don't eat. Same with bananas and watermelon.

I remember in the early days of the thread, there was a lady who I think was a nurse who did home visits, so her lunch was always in the car. She ended up getting one of those small 9V plug in fridges that holds 6 cans and putting her lunches in there to keep them cool along with her drinks. I also make driving bentos for…

There are some c25k apps that have an option to train distance rather than time for that very reason. Although if it's the countdown itself that throws you, then I guess a distance countdown would be just as bad as a timed one. I found c25k a good basic resource when I started exercising. Even if you feel like the program…

I'm with @jaydedmiss in that if it's too hard for you to even know where to start, it might not be an ideal WOE (way of eating) for you, but for questions about keto, I suggest you go to the Low Carber Daily Group, request to join, and ask your questions in there. Many of the members of that group don't always venture onto…

Do you mean two meals in separate boxes, or say a meal in each layer of a two tier box? and by two meals, are you talking brekkie and lunch, or lunch and dinner? Either way, if your bento is going to last two meals, a cooler bag is a must if you don't have the opportunity to store it in the fridge is the biggest suggestion…

I personally am not worried about it. Even if I am being exposed to it, there are a million other chemicals I'm being exposed to just from working in an urban centre that are more harmful. That being said, if you want to avoid it, just use plastics that are solid colour. BPA is only used in clear plastics anyway.

Damn right, detox is the only way to protect yourself from the harmful DNA's. I say we protest for the ban of sunflower seeds.

"Love's not just for Christmas"? That doesn't sound Christmasy at all. The title of the song to me sounds like some old aunt who never has visitors from family during the year, and then at Christmas time at the family get together after a couple of eggnogs she says "love isn't just for christmas! Why can't you visit me on…

It honestly takes practice. Starting off you may struggle with evenings, if you keep trying to change your habits, eventually you'll succeed more and more often. Even those of us who've developed good habits over time fall mouth first into the pantry on occasion. You'll get there.

They're looking at lung villi and other respiratory tract lining cells rather than core body temperature (at least from what I saw in the article), which I'm thinking would have a temporary surface temperature change when running in a cold weather for an extended time. Although unless a person is running for half or full…

If it's syncing correctly, you'll find that your caloric allowance through MFP and Fitbit should be pretty similar to each other by the end of the day (providing your stats and deficit amount are the same on each site at least). And I agree with @cybertone 's post. They're good links for this sort of issue. Remember, when…

I agree with everything except the use of the word 'brah' (or bro for that matter). It sounds weird to my Aussie ears.

You're right in regards to weight related sleep disorders, but other things come into play instead. Because your 'padding' disappears, bones make everything more uncomfortable. That harder mattress digs into your hip bones, your knees knock when you lie on your side, your coccyx/tailbone hurts if you sit on a hard surface…

I much prefer using it over the standard Aussie term, which is to call them 'bingo wings' :s

Every time I sit down my skin splays out like a half filled water balloon. I'd still rather than then that skin being filled with excess fat. The loose skin on my arms are my victory flags.

1L of water during a run (even a HM), would probably make me chunder :s If you drink that much, a hydration pack like a camelback might be an option, or one of those hydration vests that has all the smaller water bottles clipped to it. I have a flip belt, which has 350ml water bottle that fits in it as well as energy gels,…

Nope, not necessary, but may work for you. Everyone is different. Some people find a higher fat diet satiating, and a keto diet works well for them. For other people? It feels restrictive, It makes them miserable, they're always hungry. Find a WoE that works for you, stick to a caloric deficit, and you'll get there. In the…
