I just found the most technologically awesomest lunchbox yet... Introducing Prepd Dunno if I'd buy it though. At $70US, I don't know if I could justify it.

Lol, if so, they'd be the tiniest french fries you'd have ever seen considering the size of the box. I actually couldn't think of anything much worse to eat if it's a day old and at room temperature :s

This might seem like a weird one, but I'm no longer the last person people sit next to on the train in the morning. I remember when I took up two seats and didnt fit through the regular station turnstiles without turning sideways and sucking my gut in. Now there's actually a full seat next to me. With the long legs no one…

It's the same with brown sugar. I don't know if my 'loosely packed' or 'tightly packed' cup of brown sugar is the same as yours. Gimme a damn weight.

@ivygirl1937 it's in a box, it's a meal, it's a bento. I have a couple for you. The first image is today's bento - salmon, onigiri, broccoli and carrots. The second was Fridays - Curried egg sandwich, tomatoes, capsicum, laughing cow, mango and the cute little guy is my hedgehog red bean steam bun.

This is about how MFP works, not your Fitbit (remember, they are NOT the same thing). The MFP site is designed for you to input your exercise calories, then eat back said calories to keep to the correct deficit for your own health. If you have 1500 cals a day with a 1000Cal deficit, then perform 500 cals of exercise, then…

This morning, I hate cyclists who rode with no lights on to keep their bikes light, and abuse you when you don't see them in your car. Dude, I'm sorry I and 2 other cars pulled out in front of you, but it's 10 mins after sunrise and your kit is the same damn colour as the road. You have no lights (which are required by law…

I feel exactly the same. I used to feel that I had to be completely put together and neat and tidy to somehow prove that I wasn't an obese slob who didn't care about themselves. Now, I can go out with hair left to air dry and go fluffy, a pair of trackpants (still neat and clean ones though) and a plain tee without feeling…

In relation to dogs and dog walkers, I hate it when people have their dog off-leash when they're not supposed to (in Australia dogs must be on leash unless it's a designated off leash area). One of my dogs has some serious socialisation issues due to some mean neighbours and another lady who had her two Staffordshire…

@ariceroni how do you find the liquid in your breakfast box? leakproof enough?

There are multiple factors that can prevent a sound nights sleep, whether it be caffeine, too much light (especially blue light, so no using your smartphone in bed!), stress, and other things. I started having issues with sleep in my late 20's as well. I found that I was trying to be too warm in bed. I slowly shed pieces…

really? *googles Aus tablespoon* I stand corrected. Every tablespoon in my house is 15mL. All bought from Australian stores. And that means 4 teaspoons to a tablespoon instead of 3, because our teaspoon is still 5mL... Earth needs a universal measurement system, stat. Except we don't get butter in sticks, they come in 250g…

Unless you're Australian. Where a standard measuring cup sizes are the same for weight and volume, but still different to the US: 1 cup = 250mL 4 cups = 1 Litre 1 tablespoon = 15mL 1 tsp = 5mL Yay for the metric system! Mine is also related to food metrics. Americans, what the *goshdarnkitten* is a stick of butter? No…

Most people find that the first whoosh of weight is the fastest you see. If you keep eating at your deficit, then you'll continue to lose. Some of it will be water, and some of it will be fat. Also, weight loss is not linear. There's a good chance that even if you're doing everything right, there will be weeks when you…

I want to add to my post from before. I realised that for all I wrote about phentermine as a drug, I may not have been overly helpful otherwise. Check out: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 It's the get-yourself-started post for losing weight on mfp,…

To quote my brain "that turtle is such a jerkface" I think he was after the kitty because of said jerkface-ness ;)

As a person who was put on the highest dose of phentermine available in Australia (although I was morbidly obese, as opposed to your 20-25lbs left to lose), and also had a husband who has been on a lower dose over multiple rounds, I would like to say don't bother. Phentermine is designed as a way to help kick start someone…

Haha, I have a dog tall enough that he can rest his head on the kitchen bench. If he's feeling particularly cheeky, he'll try and swipe something if I even turn my back for a second, and his little sister tries to emulate (thankfully she's not as tall or sneaky as him).

Not lame. No matter how you food is prepared (or not prepared ^_^) you are making a lunch that a - you want to eat, and b - is with your Cals for the day. All is well in my book. I personally spend so much time preparing food because I find cooking relaxes me. If cooking is not your thing, or if you're extremely time poor…

The link that @SueSueDio is a good one to explain (poor Makiko who runs the site is going through chemo at the moment and had had major health issues the last few years, which is why the site hasn't been updated in some time). The word bento (弁当) literally means boxed food. For the purpose of this thread, extend it to a…

You want... more? You're all addicts, every damn one of you...

@ivygirl1937 you know what? I have waaaaay more than that now. I might need to take another picture. Then again, I've also cracked a few and thrown them out.

Don't worry about too much furikake. In Japan there's actually a type of bento called a 'nori-ben', where the rice is completely covered in nori (the seaweed used in furikake) on purpose. Some of the furikake flavours I could easily eat with a spoon, so I have to ration myself when mixing it through my rice.

I find that a hard one to answer considering I hardly ever use any sort of silicone liner in my bentos unless I have something soupy; at most I use a sauce pot. I can't remember if you use any of the fancy vegetable cutters or not, but having the pretty come from the food rather than the liners could help. Also using food…

I've been playing the early access for Conan Exiles. I find it amusing to get chased after and attacked by other naked exiles. I've also been playing Anno, and need to find time for the new Path of Exile expansion.

They really ain't gonna help. I have taken them in the past. All they did was give me stomach cramps and make me wanna chunder. Instead, I suggest you read the thread below to find alternate ways to enjoy green tea whilst in a caloric deficit. :D…

It does, but the USDA/AUSNUT/whatever the nutrition group of your country is gives you raw nutrition information. Cooked food moisture loss can vary by how long you've cooked it and what method. Take a steak. Raw is raw. For the most part, two different porterhouse steaks that each weigh 250g will have the same calories.…

The sarcastic side of me just thought 'hopefully a dead one'. I haven't actually been making my bentos that often recently. Some budget constraints mean that batch cooking my lunches for the week has been the norm this year. My slow cooker loves the attention.

Just FYI, oatmeal is porridge. Porridge is the British / Commonwealth name for it. OP, what about something with a bit more protein & fat to help with satiety? Some scrambled eggs on an English muffin maybe or some breakfast burritos that you can pre-make and freeze for the week might be something.
