  • Cosign on weighing it dry. Whole wheat may be a liiiittle different but pasta, regardless of the shape, generally comes in at around 100 cals per 1 oz/28 grams. So yeah, that math sounds about right.
  • I do an Upper/Lower ABA BAB split. But I'm trying to lose a little fat these days as well. (In anticipation for all pumpkin everything season.) Now I'm wondering if I should switch it up and do full body for a while too...
  • Me too! Well Morris now (Jefferson) but grew up in Sussex County.
  • Not the question you asked, but another option- If you happen to have Optimum check OnDemand for the SportSkool videos. (I believe you can get them on YouTube, but requires a paid subscription to the channel? I'm not entirely sure how that works.)
  • "Is this pizza?" Is a loaded question even when discussing that which is generally accepted as pizza. #TeamThinCrust (Sometimes Sicilian. But never deep dish. Yeah I said it.) This, this is a pie. Edited to add: It's not lasagna either.
  • Congrats girls! I got married last September, but I just wanted to add a word of caution. I thought it would be a good idea to tighten up my diet and cut calories juuust a liiittle more to try to lose those last few pounds in the weeks leading up to my wedding. It wasn't. I got sick. (Thankfully I rallied by the day of!)…
  • Cosign! @Lesely2603 Are they worse on your non-dominant hand? Mine are. I think it's because I grip harder with that hand because I feel less coordinated on that side.
  • Hear, hear! Plus I usually round vegetables up anyway. That's typically my MO for most of the things I don't/can't weigh. Cottage cheese* though, that goes on the scale. Peanut butter too. :disappointed: PS: @tahxirez the 2% Pot Style* is my jam!
  • @HeyBales Sorry I just scanned back through this post today so I didn't see your replies until now. :) Thanks for the support & suggestions! Seeing as my TDEE is only 1550 eating at a 500 cal def would make me super hangry! Haha. But I think I will try to eat at deficit (-250) on off days and at maintenance (not including…
  • I think my major problem right now is that my goals are conflicting. I would like to lose a few pounds because I know there is muscle under there somewhere. (I lost 8 lbs for my wedding last year and got down to 110, mostly just from a slight deficit. I only really did light lifting because I didn't have the time or…
  • I do weigh most everything. (Not vegetables, so those I estimate with the cups.) The nutrition info on the granola is in grams but I don't think I could find a database entry with it in grams. (The one I use is verified too which is odd.) So a lot of those entries are weighed but I've just had to do the math for whatever…
  • No I am definitely not that active. I work a desk job and usually only get about 5000 steps on an average day. I really have to fit in my gym sessions so I focus on the strength training. (I like to do a long cardio session once a week if I can though, it helps me destress.) But if I'm hungry I struggle with my lifts, so…
  • What the heck are you guys doing that you all get to eat so much! I'm so jealous! :s I'm 5'2, 122ish. I lift heavy (45 min-hour) 3, sometimes 4 days a week. I supposedly maintain at 1600 but have my goals set at 1400 so that I have a buffer. I try not eat over 1600 and even without eating back exercise calories I've still…
  • I had this awesome coconut curry quinoa in a restaurant that I've gotten realllllly close to recreating. I'm going to see if I can add in the cauliflower crumbles tonight.
  • So you weren't technically 'on a team' yet? If that's the case chalk it up to an activity you tried but that didn't quite fit your lifestyle. You can still skate at the park or a rink (if there are any still around. I loved the roller rink as a kid but its a Bob's Furniture now. :disappointed:)
  • I have cottage cheese with a cut up peach for my afternoon snack. Mmm!
  • I do too! I think the Why is more directed at Kraft Nabisco who was pushing this recipe hard during a time when Ritz cost more per pound than apples. It was marketing and nothing else in my opinion. I can understand this recipe being used during the Great Depression (I'm reading it originated earlier still) crackers were…
  • I'm all about food experiments. (Black bean brownies are still on the list.) But at least with the brownies you are adding in the beans which arguably add some fiber and protein to the mix, but what's the point of taking out the apples? (Being from the northeast where apples grow plentifully this also feels a little…
  • #WonderThighs!
  • This feature hasn't worked correctly for years.
  • Well no I don't believe that, probably because I never said it. Just like your body changes during puberty, hormones continue to have an effect on it as you age. The degree to which varies, just like during puberty, from person to person. (An adult woman may remain slim but arguably she still won't have the same body she…
  • I'll be 30 at the end of the month. Like OP, I weighed like 105 in HS (I'm 5'2). After college I was probably 112, and then when I moved in with my fiance got up to 118 before starting my wedding diet. I wasn't out of shape but just wasn't used to weighing that much or having to pay attention to it. I was able to get down…
  • I thought you could only bring stuff you purchased in the terminal, beyond security? Nevermind. I see there's a pretty long list. This has always just been our fail safe approach.
  • I agree with a lot of above. If weighing stresses you out put the scale someplace where you physically need to take it out to use it. When our scale sat out in our bathroom (we're redoing it currently) I would step on it all the time. But I was more intrigued at how my weight would fluctuate throughout the day/week. I…
  • I have exercise induced asthma and sometimes it feels like I can't take full deep breaths. In HS I was on the track team and I had to keep up with practice, so I had an inhaler & I would take it only before practice. It wasn't a rescue inhaler. (Before my initial trip to the doctor my chest would burn when I ran, and…
  • Ooh I never thought of mashed cauliflower. I like mashed turnip which I thicken with instant potato flakes. (As you can see we like our starches, I just try to make them a liiiiittle healthier.)
  • Here's the recipe for the shrimp. (Which if you like it is a great low cal protein! And in that case you should probably also try this recipe, and use the zucchini noodles instead of or along with the pasta.) And this one is for the fried rice. I think you could def sub half or even all the rice with cauliflower crumbles.
  • You can get handheld spiralizers virtually anywhere. They are probably in the kitchenware aisle of the supermarket. And I know I've seen the Veggetti with the other 'as seen on tv' products in CVS. I have some other brand that I use fairly often for zucchini noodles** that I mix with regular spaghetti to bulk up a meal.…
  • Over easy is my favorite too. Just a little runny for white bread toast dippin'. But... When we were on our honeymoon we had breakfast burritos at the resort cafe almost every morning. They were simply scrambled eggs, with diced peppers and either ham or bacon topped with Marie Sharp's hot sauce. (Which is seriously the…
  • I would put the Jessie Spano "I'm so excited" gif here but I got warned for similar yesterday so....
