  • We call those 'Juicy Lucys' :yum:
  • To recap: Bad ≠ Poor nutritional value. Bad = excess Outrun ≠ Actual running. Outrun = keep ahead of
  • Exactly. In this case 'bad' just means excessive, unregulated, not calculated....
  • Even the entries that already exist in the database vary tremendously... I've taken to just logging it all separately: nori, sushi rice, the fish. We don't eat it often though so no big deal either way.
  • I've always interpreted it to mean, that you're not going to lose weight without a little planning. You can't just eat whatever you want and then expect to exercise off the extra calories later. (You can try, we've all been there! But you can't regularly rely on this approach.) You're supposed to work your activity level…
  • Not a fan of the body weight x 10 calorie recommendation. No wonder the training plan is no/low weight. I do like to lift heavyish and BW x 10 only puts me at 1180, so in addition to the fact that I would actually kill someone from hanger eating that low I would never be able to make it through my typical workout.
  • The pot style Friendship (the orange container) is my favorite. I have it mashed with avocado for my afternoon snack, with honey wheat Ritz. It makes a great addition to egg salad too. I only need a tiny dollop of mayo, if any at all. When I have it for breakfast its usually with an apple or pear & cinnamon.
  • I've tried to use chocolate protein in warm milk (like protein hot chocolate) and for whatever reason it wasn't as flavorful warm as it typically is cold. I would go with an iced coffee application for this one.
  • I'm 118, and range between 0-4, depending on the designer. But its really going to be different for everyone. https://www.instagram.com/p/BECcpy3svgW/ Edited to include a photo from a week ago, where I'm wearing a size 4 Elizabeth & James dress from Rent the Runway. But, I'm currently wearing 0 Petite jeans from Old Navy...
  • One of which will, unfortunately, be peanut butter.
  • I would ransack the house the minute I got home if I didn't have a snack in the afternoon! Recently my afternoon snacks have been growing because I've been headed to the gym after work. And then oddly, even though I'm pretty ravenous when I get home my focus goes right to making dinner and not undoing all the work I just…
  • Agree with all that 1200 might just be too ambitious. And we will all tell you there is absolutely nothing wrong with reevaluating your goals in favor of something slower but more sustainable. Just a few easy additions to the snacks you're already eating: hummus, Greek yogurt mixed with Ranch dressing (or the…
  • I have to echo @Paiger816 and say that a spray tan at a salon is probably your best (most foolproof) option here. But that said I use this Express Mist by Yves Rocher, with good results. It dries fast & smells pretty good (for self tanner...)
  • In the past I've tried to cut back on the amount of sweetener I used in my coffee. But I found that when I was stressed or tired, or the weather was crummy, I would have a heavier hand with my sugar & creamer. It was so easy to backslide. So now I just measure it and that's what goes in. One 'teaspoon' (just an office…
  • We have the Ninja that comes with to-go cups that the blender blade screws right onto. I use these all the time, but rarely use the actual pitcher. So for us, a Nutribullet probably would have made more sense.
  • Do you like it plain? If not nothing will really cover up the distinct tang Greek yogurt has. Fruit & honey is my favorite topping. You can use it in smoothies, that should make it more palatable. If nothing else you can probably cook with the rest of it.
  • This booty move needs to become as common as squats and lunges! I've only ever seen one other person in the gym doing them... once.
  • Seriously. From now on I'm just going to tell people that I'm 'eating strategically in order to achieve my personal goals' and leave it at that. I was at a bridal shower and made the mistake of mentioning that I was watching my calories and didn't really want a cupcake (I wanted to save some calories so that I could at…
  • I'm glad this article mentions pavement. I had thought about it when I first responded, but often we just work where we can. I have a knack for turning my ankles when I run on the grass, but I should really force myself to do it more to strengthen all those stabilizer muscles. I know I don't have as much knowledge as some…
  • +1 for suicides (call them ladders, if you prefer). For example, sprint 10m, jog back, sprint 20m, job back, so on, repeat. (If the lot has parking spaces you can measure one and then use them as references.) ETA: You should increase your RPE for each 'set'. 50%, 60%, 70%... Also, hills.
  • I guess I needed to be specific in that I was addressing the OP & building off your post, not contradicting it. Sheesh. OP wants to lose weight and build muscle. But she said she didn't know where to begin. You explained that its difficult to do both at the same time. So I went on to add that it's a good idea to begin a…
  • You'll still benefit from starting a strength routine though, even in a deficit. In addition to preserving muscle mass, you can focus on form and building up strength. Then you can re-evaluate and see if you want to change your calorie intake in order to gain muscle.
  • Are you getting enough sleep?
  • I have two pairs of their activewear capris that I'm pretty pleased with. The fabric is thick and durable. I like this pair better. The side pocket is deep enough to stash my phone. These are okay, but they sag a little in the crotch, so I constantly have to hike them up, which is a bit of a bother. For reference I am 5'2…

  • Wish we had an ALDI nearby- here's my experience with the others... We're in NJ too, and A&P is now Acme. I have been getting most of our proteins there as they have been running Buy One Get One specials on everything from chicken breasts, pork chops to pretty nice steaks that are big enough for DH & I to split. I find…
  • I need to try that recipe @Need2Exerc1se. I made a pan pizza with store bought dough last night and I just can't get it thin enough.
  • Personally I would keep it simple for now. Eat at maintenance or just a slight deficit, find a good beginners routine and focus on form & building strength.
  • A different lacing pattern might help.
