  • The bike is great exercise. Try to introduce one longer ride each week and perhaps try a couple of hills/small climbs if you feel up to it. A gradual increase will provide huge fitness benefits over time.

  • Hi Kell. 5lbs is a great start. Well Done! Diabetes was the kick up the backside for me. I started with ambitions of 2lb per week then 1lb and was falling way short. I then used MFP and went for 0.5lb per week and found that it was easier to keep under the calorie goal to the point that I was losing more. I like rice,…

  • Morning Pete, Paul from North Yorkshire here. Similarly to your profile I was diagnosed T2 May 2015, also in the family (although lifestyle played it's part). MFP definitely works - 2.5 st loss so far and still going! Feel free to add me.
  • Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 2 May 2015 - it's in my family too, but I was also carrying too much weight. MFP has helped me lose 2.5 stone so far and last checks showed me back to pre-diabetic levels so it really does work. Best of luck with your goals.
  • North Yorkshire - feel free to add.

  • Hi. Congratulations on the weight loss so far - good going! I wasn't sure about this either when I first started but after a short time logging in and recording my daily food and activities it became a habit. And...it really does work! I have a small bunch of contacts on here who are very supportive and it's good to get a…

  • Within minutes of posting on here, I had to go through 3 pages to pick up the thread again - how about making this a group rather than a just a thread?
  • Hi All, just started cycling again after a 3 year break (work induced!). Have picked up an old 15 mile route I used to do but started getting frustrated at the amount of people passing me on their road bikes as I struggled on my mountain bike. I decided to make a change and bought a road bike a couple of weeks ago and what…

  • Been on MFP for a couple of months now, getting used to daily logging but haven't got into the community side of things yet - please feel free to add.
  • Hi! Recently diagnosed Type 2 too. I'm having to lose weight to try to control it without meds. Struggling with changing old habits and just going through the learning process now. Best of luck to you.
  • Hi, haven't quite got to grips with the community side of MFP yet but feel free to add me.

  • Recently diagnosed - eye test booked for next week, awaiting appointment with dietician. Now running 2.5 miles every morning before work (after walking dogs) and play golf every Sunday. 6lb gone in last 3 weeks. Struggling with what I can and can't eat at the moment - it seems like every time I choose something low calorie…
