Im my gym the trainers are among the worst offenders so I doubt this would happen for me! Numerous times Ive seen them set up the bench in the rack to incline press (totally fine, btw) and then just wander off when they are done. Bench left in rack, loaded bar, plates left all over the place (despite there being pegs for…

This is how I did it, essentially for adherence purposes, were I to weight everything and be really anal about everything being exact etc I would have lasted about a week before giving up. Taking a slightly more relaxed view to logging kept me sticking with it, and I lost weight pretty much on schedule so clearly I had a…

I am obsessive about re-racking weights, and even ordering them on the stand. Small ones at the top, large ones at the bottom... I ALWAYS leave a station in better shape than I left it because it seems I am the only one who ever puts weights back, and it is a real source of frustration for me. So I can sympathise!

I only have experience of my daughters since Christmas, but so far I am very impressed. Was showing it to a Chinese friend of mine, comparing it to his Fitbit. He was saying "does it do this? or this?" and the answer was always yes. And then I showed him the add, until then he had assumed it was a cheap knock off type…

Will a cheat day hurt? I guess that depends on what you are doing. Fire eating? that will probably hurt...

This was me. I was purely calorie counting, lost the weight I wanted to, and unsurprisingly was not happy with where I ended up. I think its taken about a year of lifting to get me back to an average muscular base, and its only now Im beginning to 'body build' (if thats the term Im looking for).

Had my first McDonalds breakfast in years the other day, loved it. I noted they do a double-sausage mcmuffin, or a double-bacon mcmuffin, and said to the server "they should do a sausage and bacon mcmuffin". He informed me I can add bacon to a sausage mcmuffin Needless to say I enjoyed it immensely

Happened in our office once. A girl reheated some sort of fish medley pasta bake from the night before. White fish, shell fish, tuna... Our office was huge, like a warehouse space, and the whole place absolutely reeked of fish in the worst possible way. "Pungent" doesnt even come close. It really qas quite disgusting and…

So you are arguing quite vigorously over a vague "maybe" that, even if true, would likely offer only negligible advantage? This is all a bit majoring in the minors/forum sport to me. Do I have your basic premise right? Low carb increases the cost of releasing energy from fat? If so, how/why?

If you think about it, you add things into your body, and remove things from your body through the course of the day. Forgive me for being crude, but if you have just eaten a big meal you will have more weight from the food in your stomach, just as if you have a poop you will be removing waste from your body. Drinking as…

Blambo - I have completely lost track of your point, it reads to me like a few disparate ideas being conflated. I understand there is an energy cost in both storing and retrieving enerygy as/from fat. I would imagine it is something of a constant, IE - it happens regardless of diet type. I would also imagine this is…

Last time I had a deep tissue massage I felt like I had been beaten up for a couple of days afterwards, all part of the process I am afraid.

5 days a week if memory serves. After a while of that I ended up going into the gym and havent revisited the DVDs since. I thought they were brilliant for getting me up and going, and did really benefit physically - so am a fan. Insanity was just too much for me, I couldnt hack it. T25 was ideal, with the warm down its…

I dont claim to have any real knowledge on this, or to have followed this exactly, but am I reading it right? When we "burn" fat, water and hydrogen are produced as a by product and excreted/exhaled. It is being claimed that a keto diet does what? Increase that 'burn'? That somehow that exhalation/excretion is relevant on…

I felt it was too much for me, too early in my exercise journey. I switched to T25 and loved it. Alternatively there is Insanity Max 30. Both are in the 30 minute range and much more manageable, while still kicking your a**!

I have. I didnt see the first. Not sure I like it to be honest, I dont think exposing fad and gimmicky diets is a responsible thing to do. I do like the elements where he tests things on himself, usually debunking them, but the rest is really bad for promoting poor choices.

Its a bit of an ear worm - 3 and a half hours later and Ive still got it going round...

Completely unrelated, so apologies for being of no use, but... ....for some reason I read this thread title to the tune of The Clash' "Should I stay or should I go" Should I cut or should I bulk now? do de do.... Stuck in my head now.

Exactly this, talking to a woman about her appearance, especially weight, is an absolute minefield! Usually best to steer well clear. Even when asked directly :D

Frankly I dont even know how you are alive to be posting here!

Aside from particular medical conditions, Sugar is not inherently bad. That is a distinction that needs to be made. It is not "slamming" anyone, its pointing out a very simple fact. Without that little piece of knowledge, someone who doesnt know better could take on a very difficult to adhere to diet of trying to exclude X…

You might want to pace yourself, another 8 posts and you will lose all credibility - make them count!

I cant believe there is any debate about that simple fact.

Asleep me hasnt worked that out yet, he is an idiot, and thanks to him I wake up regularly on my front with my lower back killing me

It have me something like 1400 when I was aiming for 2lbs a week, is this a new thing? Either way, the point remains - find a balance between weight loss and consistency. It make take a little experimentation to get there.

My wife bought these: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=285529152&sc_cmp=ppc-_-sh-_-msh-_-bg-_-px_%7c_shopping_gsc_%7c_all_products-_-&gclid=CMjf26GlztECFYVAGwod9BoPtw&gclsrc=aw.ds Are they the same thing? These ones are 99 calories for 1 serving, to make a sandwich with. Compared to around 99 cal per…

How much can you stick to consistently? For example: Aim for 2lbs, have a very low calorie allowance, get hungry, binge... Or aim for 1.5lbs, have a higher calorie allowance, adhere quite happily... Which makes more sense? Only you will know what level works for you best, or at least how low you can go and still stay on…

In my experience, and its something of an internet phenomenon, not just mfp - when people either/and a) disagree b) get to the point The original poster gets butthurt and starts to complain about mean people putting them down. It is no such thing, but welcome to modern life. It is very common for newbies to this site to…

German Volime Training, I believe. As the reply stated, 10 sets of 10. A lot of work! I would certainly be resting between sets on that. Its fairly accepted that if you go and ask how many sets someone has, they will happily let you work in. I did exactly that yesterday morning, someone wanted to know, I offered they share…
