Personally, I don't ever run for at least one day before a race and at least one day after. Typically, I like to take two days off from running before a race, and I try to concentrate on healthy eating, staying well-hydrated, and getting a little more sleep than usual for that time, but we all know that life doesn't always…

I think you will find that all of us have a way to go to hit our goals. My running goals are constantly changing or as soon as I hit one, I'm working towards the next. Best of luck to you, and congratulations on getting back into shape!

Yes, she certainly is! Thankfully, it's been a long time since I've run next to someone who smelled like poo/butt/BO. (Watch this happen on my treadmill run on Thursday, now.) I would LOVE to have someone to talk to about all the thoughts that run through my head at the gym. As it is, now, I keep most of it to myself, post…

I'm glad I could add some humor to your day! I literally count, sometimes. Like start at 100 and work backwards to try to keep my brain occupied. I'm pretty pathetic, sometimes. Cake lady is definitely a much better option to the person who used to come to my gym a few years ago - he smelled like tacos and would…

Good luck with your goals!

I do exactly this, but I pour it into a muffin tin. Two "muffins" are a filling and low calorie serving.

OMG! Precisely! hahaha  They are definitley a win. I would just use a bigger pan, assuming they would spread out more and bake better, and I'd let them set for at least 10-12 hours before attempting to serve them to anyone. They are totally worth the extra effort of making two batters. The Oreos give it that little…

Update: I made slutty brownies for the super bowl party. I baked them forever - like 20 minutes past what they were supposed to bake for. I cooled them for several hours, and they seemed raw when I cut them. *sigh* I ate one, they tasted awesome, but they were just way too gooey. Plan B. I crushed up the rest of the Oreos…

I agree. Our lack of Crunchie bars is quite a problem. Pepperidge Farm started importing Tim Tams, so I still have hope for the Crunchie.

That is so awesome. Congrats!!

I, too, am obsessed with the soundtrack. It is a show I 100% need to see, for sure!

I am all for wind at my back. Wind in my face, however, makes me feel like I'm suffocating and made of lead! I ran a 5K a couple summers ago along the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The run was nice, the temperature was perfect, but the wind was awful! It was an out and back run, and on the way out the tailwind was great! On the…

I've been watching the extended Disney World forecast like a hawk for the past few weeks. I know it's still way early, but Accuweather's current forecast for 2/21 is a high of 80 and a low of 54. That makes me think, as of right now, it'll be somewhere in the mid to upper 50s at the start of race, which would be a tad…

Congrats! That is definitely something to be proud of!

My last accident (circa 2009) was so very similar to this. Same speeds, same scenario. The driver (an 18-year-old-ish female) ended up with a very small dent on their back bumper, and the entire left side of my car was destroyed. Thankfully, I had a witness in another car who left her information with me, and the state…

I'm having flashbacks to my PT last Spring/Summer. I was so bored/annoyed with the 2 minute walk, 1 minute run. The 2 minutes felt like they were 10 minutes, and the 1 minute felt like it was 10 seconds. I remember being so incredibly excited the first session he had me running up and down a set of steps. It was…

I forgot about them, too! They were my favorite of the "flavored" Oreos! I stand corrected. Cinnamon bun is my second favorite so far.

That is a very good idea. There will be children at my party, too. I was just going to call them "brownie and Oreo cookie bars" or something. "Special brownies" sounds better and it makes me giggle.

The concept of deep fried Oreos scared me off for years. I had a friend finally convince me to try one. They are quite awesome!

I actually just learned about this when I was on Facebook this morning before heading into work. I already have it on my list of things to make this weekend for a Super Bowl party, but I will be using my cookie recipe and my brownie recipe. I told the hostess of hte party that I'd bring some sort of dessert, this sounds…

I just have to chime in, here. I believe some of this might make me a bit unpopular around these parts. 1. I don't eat Oreos very frequently, but I do agree with the OP - original Oreos are much better than Double Stuf. I have yet to try to thin ones, but I believe I will like those, too. 2. I've always preferred…

I do this, too! Sometimes I add in a serving (15 g) of semi-sweet chocolate chips.

I feel your pain, and I hope you have a quick and smooth recovery. Last Spring, I ran a 15K. My hip was tight around mile 7, but I felt okay for the rest of the run. While I was stiff afterwards, I was okay. I did one few-mile run in between, and that following week, I ran a very hilly 5K. I did well for the course and…
