I set the plate back a bit so that I can read the display. Or weigh in something else and transfer. But usually the former.

There are plenty of good cardio exercises that are low impact (=no jumping). I have dodgy knees so jumping is out for me, but I still like to work out. Have a look at BodyFit by Amy, low impact: https://bodyfitbyamy.com/beginner-low-impact-workouts/.

I am doing an indoor rowing challenge this month, aiming to row a half marathon (=21.1km) by the end of the month. That meant that I rowed 12km this morning, which is for me is the first time I've rowed above 10km. It took 57 minutes (on a WaterRower).

You look just fantastic! Well done!

I am doing an rowing challenge to row a half-marathon (on my ERG) by the end of the month. I did 10km this morning, am due to do 12km tomorrow and then working up to 20km (or 21.1 to be precise) on 29 or 30 November. We'll see!

If you are basing that on the mfp salt recommendations, all I can say is they are ridiculously high! Love the rest of your post, and cheese (good organic cheese) is my weakness and the main reason why I struggle with fat intake.

Yes, this has happened to me too. I tried to add, received an error message, tried to add again etc. Nothing was showing up, and then at some point all those attempts were added to my exercise diary. I have deleted the extra ones (there were a lot...). My takeaway from this is not to try to add multiple many times when the…

This is a strange one, but I just noticed that when I put my hands on my waist, thumbs forward and fingers back, my fingers touch at my spine. I have lost 5 cm off my waist over the past few months, and I can now feel it! I also need to get a new photo taken for zoom. The old one shows my face at probably 10kg heavier than…

This sounds really demotiviating. You might want to start your own thread so that people can advise?

My current maintenance goal is 75kg +/- 2.5 kg. For me 75kg is a bmi of 23.15 so solidly in the normal range (the very top of the normal range is 81kg). I want to be at a weight that means whenever I weight myself - morning, noon, or night - and whatever I am wearing (normal street clothes), I am comfortably under 80kg.…

That's great weight loss! Well done! For my part, I find the NHS waist measurements a bit problematic, as they don't seem to allow for height variance and tall people. I am female 5'11" (180cm). If I had the waist measurement the NHS says women ought to have I would look as thogh I was wearing a 19th-century…

I tend to put myself as sedentary and then try to log pretty much everything I do. I find mfp's estimates for lightly active etc. are pretty high when I compare with how much I move during the day. (I am assuming you don't have a fitbit or similar synched with mfp; if you do you definitely need to set to sedentary so that…

LOL we are in tandem here!

THis is what I have too, and the bit in bold was what I had gathered too. However, the reaction in m mouth/throat became more severe and quite scary over time, which is why I have stoppoed eating them.

Seeing the scale show below 76 kg. It seems to have been stuck between 76.3 and 77.5 kg for ages, which in reality is about a month. (Oddly looking back to last time I lost, I see I had the same issue at around this weight.) However, this morning I was at 76.1 kg (which due to the way I have programmed it, my spreadsheet…

@SalinitySally, goodness what a story, and I am so sorry for your losses. Good luck on your journey: you can do this (with however many meals each day you want!).

I started (not on mfp) with a website that offered recipe suggestions for people aiming to lose weight. I didn't get on very well with that as I like my cooking to be a bit more creative, but it was an eye opener on portion sizes, and how ours were just way too big. So my first step was thinking about portion sizes. I lost…

I have found that counting calories, not obsessively but in search of accurate information about my eating habits, has been the only thing that helped me to counter weight gain. I would think I was eating a sensible balanced diet and consuming a reasonable amount; then I would put it into mfp and see that the calories were…

You have my sympathy! Thankfully, it is only fruit for me, and I have not had this reaction to zucchini. That would be a challenge as we eat a lot of it.

Thank you: I should try this. If it works, it could be a reason to buy a microwave, which we don't currently have.

Yoou have got this!

I weigh daily for exactly this reason: I want to see how things are varying and to be able to look at trends. My weight can vary by 1kg or more from day to day, and my rolling seven day averages over the past few weeks show quite a lot of variance too. Here they are since the beginning of November (in kg): 77.00, 76.84,…

Name: Charlotte Age: 56 Height: 5'11" (180cm) Maintenance range: 75kg (+/- 2.5 kg) Weight lost: 86kg to 80 kg (January-August 2012); 85 kg to 69 kg (October 2014 - March 2016); 88kg to present weight (May 2020 - now) maintained (i.e. was below 77.5 kg, and mostly below 75 kg) from February 2015-July 2017; was then put on a…

I do this too, except that I enter my daily weight into a spreadsheet which calculates a monthly average and a running-seven-day average. That gives me my trend. I only enter a weight on mfp when I have a loss to record. That's partly because I don't particularly want to share all my data with mfp. I agree taht a weekly…

I definitely need to punch a new hole in my belt! Possibly even two?

I have been wondering about hormones too. I don't have a monthly cycle any more but I do seem to be having a fairly regular bump up in my weight at the beginning of the month. But the shifts due to changes in exercise also seem likely. My average for the month is currently down about 0.8 kg from last month, so I'm still…

This is great. When I had a trapped nerve, my physiotherapist had me doing a similar set of exercises, but every hour! It made such a difference, and I try to do it several times a day. This guy has some additional exercises though which I shall add in.

I hope you da is feeling better soon.

What a pair! An amazing transformation, both of you!

Wow, that's an amazing transformation!
