Weight lost: 86kg to 80 kg (January-August 2012); 85 kg to 69 kg (October 2014 - March 2016); 88kg to present weight (May 2020 - now) maintained (i.e. was below 77.5 kg, and mostly below 75 kg) from…
  • This is my original graph for 2014-15 (85kg-ca.72.5kg): Here's my "maintaining" graph for 2015-16 (you can see this is drifting upwards though...): Here's another maintenance graph for 2016-17, showing the sudden upsurge in summer 2017 (medication :( ): And here is my current weight loss graph (88kg-ca.75kg), in…
  • Lovely pictures, and I do hope you are fully recovered. It sounds as though have had a very traumatic time. (12kgs is a lot less than 62lbs: you can do this!)
  • That's a fantastic result!
  • Here's my daily weigh-in graph since last May. You can see that I collect the data month by month (slowing down my weight loss as i move into maintenance shows up in the overlapping lines since November): And here is the curve smoothed by plotting the monthly averages (April is set to plot today's running average for…

  • On snacks: if you are really hungry (that is, if you are still hungry after you drink a glass of water and wait 10-20 minutes), then try to snack with a bit of protein added, it will help to fill you up. So some blueberries and a dollop of natural yoghurt, or a cheese biscuit or two with some cottage cheese, or a carrot…
  • Sending hugs, and hoping that all goes well on 1 April. Do let us know.
  • Lesley, i am so sorry. I hope you can find ways to cherish the time you still have together and then to say goodbye well.
  • I punched two new holes in my belt a while back, needing the first but not expecting to use the second, perhaps ever. Today, that's where it is done up! There are 15cm (6") between the hole I was using when I was at my largest in around 2014 and where I am today. Where my belt does up does depend a bit on what trousers I…

  • This seems very wise. I have come to realise that my "trip wire" has been ca. 88kg, which for me is right at the top of overweight bmi. I don't think I've every been above that weight, but I lost from there to goal and then regained it over a period of several years. I'm pretty much back at goal now (been in my maintenance…
  • This is such a helpful thread, and I had not seen it before, so am glad to have it revived.
  • You can buy these measuring cups in the UK too, as well as measuring spoons; I have a set because I have a lot of recipe books from the US.
  • That's really impressive progress!
  • My brand new 12kg (25lb) kettlebell arrived yesterday morning and in yesterday's workout I did my swings with it! I'll move up to 16kg fairly soon, but this feels amazing: I was struggling with 0.5kg dumbbells when I started last May.
  • Left is 2014, ca. 86kg (187lbs). Right is this last week, just over 75kg, my goal weight. I'm 180 cm (5'11"). I lost to my goal weight in spring 2015, maintained until summer 2017, gained it all back plus some to spring 2020 (weighing in at >88 kg), and have now lost it again. I plan to think harder about maintenance this…
  • You should indeed be proud: what an achievement! I hope all goes well for you this week.
  • The label might might not be that wrong. I looked up the density of peanut butter. Depending on the recipe, it seems to be anything between 1.01 g/ml and 1.1 g/ml. 1 tbsp of the less dense would be 15.15g, of the heavier one would be 16.5g. That's assuming a smoothed tablespoon, of course. Heaped you could easily be at 27g…
  • @Machka9;c-45830813 Thank you for posting this. Also add frozen shoulder I guess. I would say that in actual menopause, periods cease. (That's the definition, is it not?) The irregular periods - or the almost constant bleeding - are a peri-menopause symptom.
  • Congratulations: that's such good news!

  • This: except that for me it was hitting 88kg and pushing 89kg (which means pushing 200lb). Intervening has worked: I hit my goal weight today! :)
  • 75.5 kg this morning (much to my surprise). At this rate I might achieve trending somewhere in the 75.1-75.5kg range by Easter. :)
  • Back down to 76kg as of this morning. We'll see where I am at Easter, but the trend is now in the right direction.
  • Mine is a double NSV today: working out this morning, I realised I can put the palms of my hands comfortably on the floor in front of me when I have straight legs (even when wearing my houseshoes which add a good cm to my leg mength). Then my 8kg dumbbells arrived and I carried the parcel up two flights of stairs without…

  • So sorry to hear this, Lesley. Thinking of you and your son and your family.
  • I have just posted ths in another thread, but here is my experience to add to that of others: I am another of the ones who has achieved a very respectable loss (12kg, which is 2 stone; 28lbs) since May last year. I am in my late 50s. I lost about the same amount 2014-15 (pre-menopause), but put it back on again, helped by…
