Thanks, @sodakat. That is a good reminder. That's why I don't have tattoos. I don't like anything I liked when I was 19! I personally like being older (except for the aches and pains.)

Boy, this group's been quiet lately. I hope that doesn't mean that everyone is feeling discouraged. I haven't been as careful as I would have liked in the last few days, but I'm trying not to let it get me down. I did have a situation the other day where I ended up going through the drive-thru for lunch, getting a…

Thanks, Cathy! That's a good idea about increasing exercise time to make you feel better. I'm glad you've been able to get past your "challenge" and get back to where you were. How's the grandbaby? I do have good news--went to the doctor yesterday for my lab results. A1C is down from 5.8 to 5.6; the top end of the normal…

Need some encouragement...I fell off the wagon so bad at the end of last week and into the weekend. I'm up almost 5 pounds from my last weigh-in. I know that some of that is temporary weight gain, but I've really felt out of control. And I go to the doctor today to get my updated lab results from last week (thank goodness…

I'm going to pass on this one. I'm not very competitive (except with myself!) Keep us posted, though.

@cathy120861, I never heard of these shoes before. I went to their site and watched one of the videos; it does look like fun. Where did you find them to try?
-
@sodakat, if you go online you can find and order them. Google Super Pogo 1505; it's rated up to 210, but some reviewers said they weigh much more than that and had no trouble. Amazon has them for sale.

You all are incredibly inspiring and give me hope every day. I have been focused on trying to become more healthy for the last 12 years and it has been a roller coaster. Joint issues and other health crises, and still I was able to fool myself into thinking I wouldn't have to do this forever, so the yo-yo has continued…

Wonderful news, Jewels! So proud of you.

In my first post on this thread I said that you never know when something you say might help someone else. I think this thread is testament to that. Although it didn't bring the OP what she was looking for, it has helped others of us immensely. @cathy120861, that is awesome news! Thanks for sharing. I didn't take my…

I was having some digestive problems due to going low-carb, so my nutritionist suggested chia seeds for the fiber. I put a teaspoon in scrambled eggs (which took some getting used to) and a tablespoon in my smoothies, along with a tbsp of flax. I have started milling the seeds first, however, because they were so gritty…

Snooozie, if that were true, I wouldn't be the size I am!

Ha ha! You are so right, Jewels!

Not only are fresh veggies not making it as comfort food, they're hard to keep stocked if you can't get to the grocery store. Wonder how fresh groundhog would taste? I'm ready to go hunt me some. I've kept it down to a dull roar, but I keep prowling through the kitchen trying to find something that's OK to eat. Need to…

Cathy, start fresh today! You can do this. That's such a precious baby and you want to be there for him. I'm a fine one to talk, but I got back on the wagon yesterday after blowing it during the snow and ice, and am back on track. If I can do it, YOU can do it!

I found that walking in a therapy pool was very kind to my knees before replacement. I also started with physical therapy. Not getting any exercise today. Socked in with ice and no power. :-(

Congratulations, Cathy! Enjoy...

My vitamin D levels are low as well. I take 3000mg daily, 1000 of which are in the multi-vitamin I take. I'm hoping that it will have improved when I get my next labs done. So I don't really know what I did differently, but I lost 3.2 lbs this week! That was after my pastry disaster last weekend, and I was determined to…

Oh, Snoozie! Are you in my head or what? When my doc told me I was pre-diabetic I wanted to slap him! And the poor nutritionist in his office--I told her she was going to be my whipping boy for a while until I got over being so angry. So not fair to them, since it was, so to speak, my "just desserts" over a lifetime of bad…

I'M AWAKE! I watched the video on measuring--a real eye-opener. It has always driven me crazy to see something like watermelon measured in cups or fractions of a melon. Give me weights, preferably in grams! But I didn't realize there was such a difference between measuring and weighing. I put PB2 in my smoothie this…

I was going to post that I had a setback yesterday, but after reading the last few posts, I'm going to change it to an "indulgence" day. I was painting as a volunteer yesterday and got blindsided by all the goodies that show up for volunteers. I resisted almost all day but it finally got the best of me and I ate two…

Jewels, I haven't had anything like that happen. It sounds like what happens in pregnancy--I can remember that far back! I swore off tuna for years after my kids were born! Wonder if it could be hormone-related?

Geez, the only time I've EVER been in maintenance was when I hit lifetime on WW many years ago. I've never stayed the same weight for more a month or two in my life, so I keep clothes in 5 or 6 different sizes. I know you're supposed to get rid of your "fat" clothes when you lose, but I found that having to buy bigger…

Good luck with your blood work! I'm really interested to see if your blood sugar has improved. I'll have mine redone in a month or so, but don't want to rush it.
-
Cathy120861, that's exactly it! My granddaughter was born 12 years ago and that was my impetus to really get with the program. Also, there were two women in my church in their 70s; one could barely move, and the other--well, I couldn't keep up with her on my best day (still can't; she's 90 now and walks 5 miles a day!) I…
-
HoganBirdie, you are doing great! I would add one piece of advice--if your goals are not realistic, then you may become discouraged. I do think that 15 pounds in one month may be a little unrealistic. Also, since you are doing an intense weight training program, you are building muscle, which may slow down your loss on the…

middlehaitch and cathy120861, I so totally identify! Although I could do each belly dance move separately, I cannot learn choreography and am extremely uncoordinated. I've never been able to do aerobics and Zumba scares me to death! Fortunately, I don't mind looking silly. Since my Achilles and knee replacement surgeries,…

I am 57, almost 5' 3" and thankfully post-menopausal. I remember the first time I went to WW--I was 19 and weighed 140 pounds! I'd kill for that now. At my heaviest I weighed 266, but about 12 years ago I decided to get healthy once and for all. I lost almost 100 pounds on WW, began exercising extensively and was in the…

I use the website only, not the phone, and it says my Fitbit is connected, but not even the added calories show up. Is it only on the phone app? That's disappointing.

I'm new to MFP; I have a Fitbit One and it says I'm connected, but my exercise doesn't seem to be showing up anywhere on MFP. Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? I don't have a smartphone so I'm tracking on the website only.
