Strength training; if I do nothing else - I need to get an upper body strength training session in today!

ndj1979 it needed to be said (period).

The weekends are my version of "go hard" or "go home" so Monday's are a little more relaxed - I'll do 60 minutes on elliptical trainer and 30 minutes of strength training my upper body (my legs are spent).

khovde07 I think just saying it out loud and acknowledging you're slipping into old bad habits is a good thing. It often takes time before we realize it and even longer to accept it... you're already winning the battle just keep fighting and get focused. You got this!!

Big coleslaw eater; I think I enjoy it most for the crunchiness of the cabbage & shredded carrots. I don't follow any particular recipe so I start with one of the pre-shredded bags of coleslaw and I'll add in some sunflower seeds or pepitas and cranberries (or any dried fruit) sprinkle salt & pepper to taste and a quick…

I set a goal to never buy anything while standing in the checkout lane... candy, chips, jerky - because they are purposefully there for impulse buying which means I did not go there to purchase them in the first place. Today, I cracked... I waited too late to each lunch and was past the point of hungry. The package had…

I like this thread idea... Just for today I am going to drink water (16Z) before each meal

Not so much the same internal dialogue; but I'll share my experience as it is somewhat similar to yours. I've gone to the gym since my very early 20's and probably like you was considered a "gym rat" never had an issue going to the gym or any kind of workout running, tennis, bike, inline skating - I actually enjoy getting…

To answer your question, YES! Less alcohol, reduced calorie intake = weight loss. However, I definitely enjoy a glass of wine, a beer and or a cocktail. When deciding to lose weight I purposefully included alcohol as I did not want to set myself up for failure because I know I have a glass of something most (4/7) evenings.…

Don't give up and never give in... seriously!!! I had to Google TDEE so I can't give you tech talk, but I can share what I know for certain. #1 you're tracking your foods - bing #2 you're exercising - bing bing #3 you're adding variety, changing it up by including weights - bing x3. You probably didn't weigh yourself,…

I'll be 52 this spring and slowly approaching my goal, but having anxiety about maintaining. Hoping for inspiration & motivation. May I have an invite, please.

I'm more of a skirt/dress/jeans or dress pants wearer - I recommend having them altered. A pet peeve of mine is ill-fitting clothes - rather too small or big. It's pennies on the investment to have them altered. I've had some dress pants altered twice as I lost weight.

I prefer salty, crunchy snacks over sweets so I never have anything sweet in the house; but every now and then I want something sweet - I pop gummy multi-vitamins like no bodies business!

I did Atkins some years ago and had excellent success, love the way I looked, loved the way I felt. Cannot say the exact number of lbs I lost - I never used a scale until recently. I will be transitioning off my current weight loss plan and plan to use Atkins as my weight management more for the low carb, high protein…

OK, for all those who said they are up for being 10 lbs lighter by April... what did you do different (if anything) to step up your game? I increased my workout time by 10 minutes... baby steps!

I'm in... hoping this will push me to my new goal weight!

Yep, me too! A hearty, healthy soup on Sunday get's me through week. I'm one of the people who can eat the same thing everyday. Soup can be very filling.

I'm on the elliptical several times a week and I have the same problem - and have had it for years. Fortunately mine go numb in the last 15 minutes of my 60-70 minutes workout - every now and then it starts early and I can't handle the feeling and hop on the treadmill. I believe it's a poor circulation issue - I wear super…

Our sales team did a biggest loser for 4 years and I was the person doing the weigh-in tracking. Most people weighed in immediately upon arrival and some did grumble about the difference; however they knew full well that any fluid or food would tip scale as well as clothing. We had three payouts of 10% of the pot and then…

I run and wear the Mizuno Wave Riders and have for a couple of years. I was fitted at a running store as well and that is what they recommended. That being said, I strongly suggest you take them back to the running store - generally they are pretty serious about getting you in appropriate shoes and will be much more…

Skip the sodas and pass on the desserts... I get weak in the knees on salty, crunchy snacks and vino! If I buy, I buy an individual pack not a large bag 'cause I don't stop until I hit bottom. Only recommendation I have is, don't buy them - I know easier said than done, but that will reduce the intake. Wine is another…

Don't settle, get what you really want and can afford. When it comes to ever changing technology best to get the latest and greatest you can afford or you'll be quickly out-dated and wish you had!

I had a fitbit flex and wore it all the time, tracking steps, sleep patterns etc and that was great. But, due to technical difficulties gave it up and now I have a Surge - same deal of tracking etc. BUT what I am doing differently this time is I'm only wearing my Surge during my workouts - yeah getting in 10K steps daily…

Hi found myself in a very similar situation and would have loved the additional support as I know it's benefit. I'm still on the path and would gladly be part of your support group. Just remember a slip is not fall - it's just a slip!

Well done... woot woot!!!
