  • I weigh myself daily for my own tracking purpose and rarely do people ask my weight (however, they do ask what size I wear HA!). Either way, I generally don't share that info; but if I do, I have a tendency to give my higher weight and now that I think about it I have no idea why. Lowering the expectation... hmmm.
  • I can definitely relate, I was diligent before goal and I let up for a bit during the holidays - just became less of priority (and I gained a few). But I've come to realize, the logging/posting keeps it in the forefront instead of the background and that is what works for me.
  • BPM - 61 BP - 110/70 H - 5'2" WT- 129 (today) up 4 lbs from the holiday indulgences 52 yo Activity - sedentary during the day; workout everyday at least an hour; runner. I can run 8 miles any day of the week - max 14.5 miles. I do more cardio than weights.
  • Didn't go completely off the rails; but I didn't stay on the train either. I gained 7 lbs between Thanksgiving - Jan 3; the bulk of the weight gain came in the last week when my schedule got tight with family gatherings (missed workouts) extra food and drink. But, revving back up is far easier this time around with less to…
  • I will NOT assume that since this is the first time I've seen you at the gym and you look like you are trying to lose ALL your weight in one session on the elliptical machine that you are a new years resolution-er and in four weeks you will be a distant memory.
  • I'm up 7 lbs pre-holiday (Thanksgiving to New Years) I did fluctuate at first then as my holiday parties filled my calendar and my workouts became few the weight moved up gradually and I am totally beating myself up over this. However; after having bit of a conversation with myself - I'm going to let it go and get back on…
  • I use MFP specifically for logging and motivation therefore the need to have it open is not necessary.
  • Wow & thanks! what a wealth of good, solid, logical information. I've been running for years and usually once the temps dip in the 30's and the windchills are up and snow on the ground I'm running for cover (treadmill). But so far this year I've been running a lot and ran new extended routes to keep it interesting -…
  • Since doing these challenges... how do you say it... I'm cranking out the miles, pounding the pavement, running the streets, in beast mode? Say what you will it's October 19 and I'm at 76% [img][/img]
  • Did my first "official" half marathon Saturday, it was absolutely an amazingly beautiful day - temp at the start of race was 43 degrees, watched the sun come up over my great city and at the end of the race was a sunny 63 degrees. I ran my pace @ 10.02 finished #997 of a total of 4389 participants and #39 in my demographic…
  • Super excited to be running my first half marathon this weekend... Post 31mi so far for October. I've been a running nut doing these running challenges. I even ran in the dark last night which I normally don't due - visually impaired + uneven pavement = splat! [img][/img]
  • Missed my running goal of 100 for September; I knew it was going to be a struggle with my busy schedule and vacation. [img][/img]
  • moving right along...
  • I do both! During the winter I did the elliptical for an hour and then ran on treadmill 2-3 miles; once the weather became nice I continued with the elliptical & ran outside a lot more (8-10 miles). I play tennis and other activities so I don't become too bored - nice to have options and mix it up.
  • I'm in for 100 for September; two vacations will significantly impact my mileage this month; but the challenge should hold me accountable for the other days... doing the run challenges has been the best thing for me... #helping me maintain my goal weight #increased my running speed #increased my miles (especially during…
  • So loving these run challenges - keeping me moving, motivated, accountable and focused! Ran my first 5k race this Sunday - in recent years (I'm a lone runner, not a pack runner) saw my race stats and at one point I was pacing at 7.04 mph; had it not being for the challenge I would have never entered. So once again for…
  • Hmmm not sure why my ticker is not showing my correct mileage... s/b 114.7 - 76%
  • on par [img][/img]
  • Checking in @ 96/150 64% just below par s/b 67! Nice AM run before work today (had not done that in a long time). Although a busy weekend coming up, hoping to get in another 20 to get back (ahead) par 77%. [img][/img]
  • I just started taking a daily vitamin recently and it's Vita-Fusion Multivites and the only reason I selected that over the others at the time was because of price and it came in a "gummy-bear" formula. No water needed and I can pop in my mouth on my way out the door in the AM - so I know I'll take it regularly. Not…
  • Excellent writing, I was right there with you, every jump of the way... you came, you saw and you conquered!
  • Amstel light is low carb if you like beer and some of the Skinnygirl mix drinks (mojito- my fave) are low carb (made with agave which is low glycemic). Key is to sip slow and make it last.
  • Wow! that is awesome contactandy!!! Love hearing these success stories, especially when it's done by pure perseverance... job well done and good luck maintaining as I'm sure you will do equally well!
  • That was my mistake the first time around... several years ago I lost weight by being mindful of what I was eating and working out regularly - felt good, looked great. The weight slowly crept back on and here I am today back at my goal weight from mindful eating and working out - looking good and feeling great! I'd like to…
  • I swear I'm not trying to be a smart-*kitten*; but I see regular post inquiring about cheat-meals or cheat-days etc. I personally do not plan them as I consistently try to CICO and incorporate some kind of workout daily; if I have a meal or a day of overeating - so be it, it's a lifestyle. But, the bigger question I have…
  • I am slow out the gate this time around (too many GNO) need to kick it up a couple of notches... oy vey! [img][/img]
  • I failed... around 10:30P I was munching on pecans and dried cherries (of course today I have no pecans or dried cherries for my salad). However, I am dusting myself off as I am determined to kick this late night snacking craziness. Aug 5 day 1.
