Yesterday I did put in earbuds with classical music playing, but I figured it would be easier to eat mindfully without having "The West Wing" to distract me. There wasn't much I could do about the interruptions from the kids though - even though two out of three were done before I could start eating. But I do think it's…

$300-400 on all food for a family of 4. We live in California's central valley.

Thanks Guys! It's great to get some ideas. I just wish I could "like" posts, ya know?

My body and I rarely agree on what is "enough" sleep. I function with a constant sense of fatigue that never leaves thanks to the MS. So unless my body is actually giving me signals like slurred words, loss of balance, and headaches I just keep with the original plan and ignore it.

So true :) time and money are a big part of what makes it hard to think of something. My BestFriend and I have a running joke that the first one to win the lottery is springing for hair removal Lol. And I like the way you think yoovie, I'd love to get to the point where TM or just running in an event was an option. Those…

Took a look at the link :o Yeah, I don't think so. Gonna stick with what I'm doing.

I had this problem when I've tried to get in shape with my male SO(s) I'd be working my butt off to keep up with them in workouts and/or eat whatever it was we should/shouldn't be eating, and would watch the pounds just frakin MELT off them. While I'd be getting minuscule results. The Ex would also cheat on the diet he put…

I wish I'd read this before breakfast. . . but since my breakfast is a MR shake I don't know that I'd really want to contemplate it in depth :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'll try to keep it in mind for dinner though.

26 days logged and 5 lbs down. I'm really enjoying the people who are on all the time, so I'd like to add more.

I have corsets of various sizes that I want to be able to wear to faires again. And there's this brilliant full black skirt that I haven't been able to get around my waist since I started putting on weight, but I've never had the heart to get rid of it. That skirt is my finish line.

Just crammed Odd Thomas by Koontz into my bag. But seeing so many of you mention Kingkiller makes me curious, might have to look that one up.

I'd think the Newbery winners would be a good place to start, and of course my 7 year old just finished reading the 3rd HP. I don't know if I could stand listening to them for hours but last year he read through every Magic Tree House book he could get his hands on. And there's always classics like the Wizard of Oz and The…

Subway's website actually has a really cool feature where you can "calculate yours" and find the nutritional value for your sandwich with the ability to add or remove the regular toppings to customize it. And Taco Bell's "Fresca" menu has some very managable options. When I know I'm going to be headed out, I'll pull up the…

It is so great to see someone posting that what I'm trying to do CAN be done! 60 pounds is a big hill for me to climb, and 6-12 months seems like an awfully long road from this end. Thank you for being an inspiration. :)

How about "Failure is not Final, make failure a MOMENT not a MONUMENT" Time and life doesn't stop for moment no matter how much we might want them too. Heck, I'd stay right in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner if I could! But a Monument is something we stop and dwell on, contemplate, admire/revile. We cannot just continue…

I was always too tired to get motivated by myself at night. Now I wake up an hour before the kids to get my workout and a shower in. And if I'm slow the shower might wait till I've dropped them off at school. :) Having a shorter workout helps too.

I've only dated one man shorter than me, the problem was lack of chemistry not height. My ExH was only two inches taller than me but our respective postures made people assume he was the shorter one. He had no shortage of female attention, but he also had an attention grabbing personality. I'd recommend meeting women in…

I like it in small amounts. It's excellent for certain cravings. But I can't imagine just eating a spoonful :s It's definitely a challenge to find in the states though.

Just curious, how does a grown adult "not know how" to exercise? [/quote] The same way they don't know how to eat a healthy meal.

If you just want encouragement and positive feedback than that really should be what you ask for. Asking a question just invites people to answer it with what they think is correct whether or not it's what you want to hear.

I love good food so being able to splurge is necessary for my sanity. Have you considered trying out healthier versions of your favorites?
-
Of course not. Why on earth would you be naked in a sleeping bag without the intention of having sex? HYE gotten a flat tire while wearing something that made it impossible to change it yourself?

Daily Burn had multiple programs and meal plans to go with them, but since you're going to the gym I don't know that you'd want something centered around online workout videos. The library or a bookstore might be a good place to start otherwise. I haven't read "Saving Dinner" but I've heard it's good. Personally I meal…

205ish at the tail end of my first pregnancy. Kid turned 8 in September I don't remember exactly LOL. Without a baby on board the 187 I arrived with is as high as I'm aware of.

Re-reading Death Masks by Jim Butcher (Dresden Files) right now just for fun. Also 15 pages left of a copy of 2001: A Space Odyssey stashed under the bathroom sink at work. Soooo very much better than the movie.

I prefer some hair. If your chest is bare it better be natural because I loathe chest/arm stubble. Personally I'm due for a trim, but if a guy mandated that there be shaving involved we'd be done right there. I've always thought it was borderline pedo and get radioactive razor burn. Thank God for the return of classic…

Try herbal teas instead of Green or Black. They aren't as bitter. Also there are some sweet herbs. Licorice root and anise are two off the top of my head. I don't know if it's available where you are, but Good Earth "Sweet and Spicy" is too sweet for me, but the kids like it. I use it for iced tea and pair it with two…
