Lighting and camera resolution play a part, too.

The moderation thing doesn't work for me - if I have a small portion, I will want the rest much more than when I started. What works for me is to tell myself that I can have one item of what I really want (rocky road, right now) on Sunday/a set day. Whether I have it or not depends how I feel on the set day, but I don't…

I don't log any salad portion that's under 30 calories. Tend to assume my daily allowance is an estimate anyway, I just try to be sensible.

Saw a guy breakdancing in the gym yesterday. Don't think anybody complimented him, but it was intriguing.

I'll probably gain 2-3 kg, as I won't be as active without my gym membership. But I'll try to eat at maintenance most days.

100 lbs is a lot, what kind of time-frame do you expect to do that in? (I don't know where summer is for other parts of the world)
-
It is definitely doable, if you have the time and motivation. I've lost around 35lbs in less than 4 months, without making myself sick or miserable. Just have to follow a good plan that works for you

On my above post, both weight training and HIIT keep calories burning long after you leave the gym. It's worth considering, at least. Your choice of course.

I've nothing against the restaurant; the premise is actually quite a smart one from a business perspective. But I wouldn't eat there.

Something like a 15 minute warm up, then 25 minutes of strength cardio (by trying to keep breaks between sets short, and keep the heart pumping), and finishing with 20 minutes High intensity interval training on one of the cardio machines. Though it's not the easiest thing to log into mfp, everything I've read says that…

Not on your weight loss, no; if you consume less energy than you use, you will lose weight. But it being high in salt will not be great for your internal health if you eat that way regularly. It'll also cause you to retain water weight, so the scale might confuse. You might also lose a high proportion of muscle if you…

Had a look at your profile. Crazy good work, man. Genuinely impressed.

Haven't noticed a difference myself. But I was the type to stay inside when I was in really bad shape, so that might've had something to do with it.

That doesn't work for most people, I imagine. A carrot is basically the opposite of a cookie, so I doubt it would help much if you specifically wanted a cookie.

Christmas is 39 days away?? Woah! I'm in a very similar situation. What I've done is I've told the family that I'll cook for them over the holidays, which will allow me to know what goes into the food and keep on track. But I'll allow myself one week of relaxing my diet between christmas and new years, with the knowledge…

That is a lot of calories burned. I won't assume you're overestimating, because you might not be, but it's very possible. Eat under a deficit and you'll lose weight. You shouldn't eat more if you don't need to, but you can if you are hungry. It'll only affect your progress if you consistently go above your target.
-
The scale and your mind can make you feel like there's little progress happening, but those can mislead. As weird as it sounds, I find taking a new photo of yourself every 10-15 days helps better put things into context when you compare them to previous ones. I think you're eating well. I have a similar calorie allowance,…

Probably steals candy from children and revels in their tears, on a daily basis. I'm not a very good judge of character..

Depends on how tall you are, and numerous other factors. You can estimate your particular required deficit by putting those factors into one of the many calorie calculators online. I'd probably suggest trying to add more cardio in your routine, or incorporating HIIT sometimes rather than steady state. But you'll see how…

Used to. Intentionally logged in less beer and ice-cream than I consumed. Thing is, if you're altering the log, it's probably a sign that the food in question should be avoided; I did so and the fat's been coming off.

I forget what kind of pasta this is, but it's lovely.
