That's a tough one to work through. Everybody has flaws, and I think sometimes it's easy to forget that those aren't what make us who we are.

You would get better progress eating less; for example, you could cut a bit of the rice, and perhaps some of the extra supplements (considering you eat protein with every meal, and you aren't trying to gain weight). Over a week, these small changes will make a pretty significant impact. However, if you are happy with your…

Skimmed Milk, all-bran, ryvita crackerbeead and Lurpack lightest. Bananas, raisins and satsumas. Quark, pot of honey, and a bag of salad leaves. That's 80% of what I eat I think.

I like this thread.

All-bran and toast.

Unless you're hugely on top of your diet, I'd recommend an affordable protein powder. I don't eat much meat, so it helps to have whey protein on the days that I don't get enough of it. At around 100 calories a shake, it's also very efficient macro-wise.

You look fantastic, brilliant stuff.

The math is always going to be there. But you'll have to find a way to motivate yourself if you really want to lose weight. It isn't a fast process, and if you could lose heart in the space of two weeks, perhaps it wouldn't have worked out anyway. Which is totally fine of course, weight loss is a personal choice.

I'm going to give a rough track, but I'm not going to weight my dinner or anything like that. It's just for a ballpark estimate of the damage I know I'll do, so that I know where that puts me afterwards.

Haagen-Daz is just too good. Going to have some over christmas.

I'm not a fussy eater, but I really disliked Tesco's sweet chilli cottage cheese, and struggled to eat the 10 calorie Hartleys jelly, despite enjoying the first three spoonfuls. Also tried to make a protein mug brownie once. Came out really foamy and tasteless, which was impressive considering I like the taste of my…

£30 a week since I stopped buying alcohol.

Will check it out tomorrow.

Aye, but you probably aren't as concerned about price. I'm quite fond of protein too, Tavi.

Lovely place, went there this summer. If you're looking for cheap food, that shouldn't be difficult as similar foods tend to be shelved next to each other. If you're looking for healthy food on top of that, it might take more time to see all the options, and you will probably have to learn to cook if you don't already.

That is brilliant. Impressed.

I could use this too tbh. The more advice the better, as I don't have a gym partner and struggle to teach myself perfect form from the internet.

Where do you shop? It's all about finding the best the shop has to offer - and unless you shop in a really high end place, you'll find good deals. General rule of thumb is to rarely spend more than £2 on a one-use item (such as a ready meal). Look for good deals on fruit/veg, and check the price per kilo for reference.…

There was a period in which I ate mcdonalds 2-3 times a week. Not great.

I know people who have done juice fasts, or 'nosh'. Didn't know better at the time, but it makes me angry on reflection seeing how much those cost, and how people get roped in to their pseudoscientific promises. Must be a criminal profit margin.

My diet has slipped a little recently. Not getting such a good deficit, but I think it's just hard to keep up for a long time. Being hungry sucks tbh. I'm going to try and step it up again though.

I had a similar mentality going into uni. Just gotta keep with it past the first two weeks until it gets easier. Never been in better shape personally - hope it works out for you.

I'm the same. Everyone has to find what works for them.

If hummus was 0 calories, I'd be in dreamland.

0.45 lbs/day, since early october.

That's harsh of them to say, even if they didn't mean to cause offence. However, in my experience, you can't lose and keep off weight for the approval of others. It has to be a desire from within, or it might be psychologically damaging.
-
Probably not tbh

Anything that comes in several portions, except cereals. I can't do moderation - if it's inthe cupboard, I'm eating it all. Luckily I find it easy to buy the right things when shopping, and only have junk on occasion.

I don't think you have it right. "I eat at the same TDEE as I did when I was 5 lbs lighter and I am maintaining. This is why I think it will be difficult to go back to my normal weight" - If you are eating at your daily expenditure, your body has no need to shed weight. You don't lose weight by eating at your previous…
